Though I not a fan of Marcel's attitude, I don't think most of the others were without blame in their own attitudes and I think he was scapgoated. I think he is a superior cook to Illan because I think the competition was not about Spanish cusine. It seemed to me Ilan could not step outside of this box, though he obviously is talented. I believe Marcel would have won had he had the fish for the one dish in the finale.

I could'nt agree more with Pam-I have been slightly put off by Marcel throughout the competition, but there was never any question as to his ability, and moreover, his creativity. And as far as I could tell, anytime there was a conflict, while Marcel was always involved, he never initiated it. And throughout the competition, while most of the other chefs were content to languish in the middle of the pack by playing it safe(ie Ilan) Marcel was never afraid to step outside the boundries of conventional cuisine. Regardless of the finale, despite the title "Top Chef", its obvious to anyone that the more talented chef, was easily Marcel-congratulations young man-your future is very bright indeed!!

First of all, this should have been between Marcus and Sam. This last episode felt like many that came before it. I thought I was in junior high again. While Marcus is not my favorite personality, he was put upon and picked on in very imature ways throughout this entire series. Grow up people.

OK, what posessed Marcus to pick Mike in the end?

The way I heard the final course judging, I had Marcus up by one. He even wowed a very experienced table with a taste they had never had before. OK, by accident. It came down to a personality contest and the judges bias was clear.

I'll think I'll pass on this series from now on. It lacks ethics in my opinion.

Marcel would have won had he presented anything but his plain salad (though beautiful) as his second dish. Also, Ilan couldn't have pull it off without Eliah, who was by far a better cook than he was and executed his dishes better than he cold have done himself. Also, he didn't hurt Ilan than his teammates were behind him 100% while Marcel's were, let's say, less than enthusiastic about his presence on the finale.
