Maybe somebody here can tell me if tortilla chips are even real mexican food. Do the "real Mexicans" in Mexico actually get these things with their meals?

Everybody thinks Chinese food ends up with a fortune cookie, but they don't seem to have fortune cookies in China. Are tortilla chips just another way to fleece the dumb gringos by filling them up with fried junk instead of food?

Of course, there are plenty of locals (I am talking to YOU, jovenes blancos) who think that a good Mexican restaurant is one where you can down five shots of overpriced Tequila in the company of your friends.
Hey Babosa, Look who's talking smack about poopfaced drunks being a cultural phenomenom!

Thanks for the info "The Mexican".

I had a funny feeling all those "authentic local taquerias" were probably not doing it the way it's really done in the olde country.

El Gringo is pretty easy to fool, huh.

No, it is just what happens to things that get 'americanized'. It is what we Americans do. I'm not saying this in a positive or negative light, just telling how it is.

Chips n salsa aren't served in Mexico, so what? We are in the US and we serve chips and salsa? Just let it be. The sun is shining outside

Who goes out to eat anymore? Take me with you. The whole concept is as dead as Block Buster, Taco Bell... stay at home, do some push ups, stream video. Sure, we will always need people to climb the mobile phone towers but UPS, the other UPS, FedEX come to your door every day. Hot meals, cucumbers, whatever, we need to get smarter about this sort of thing because we are able to do it.

Ever hear that old song? Some of the words are...."gut ache by the number, heartburn by
the score, I won't go to that place to eat again anymore." Something like that.
