I tried every diet on the market and none of them lasted or worked for long, even the adkins ( lost 30lbs) gained back 50. So the cycle began. I gained 70lbs with my first baby back in the early 70 and just kept going on the same rollercoaster year after year. Untill I read this book titled "The Sugar Solution". That was mid October of 2006. I weighed 197 and wore a size 40 mens jeans. I am now proud to say that I have lost 51 lbs. And it is still coming off. Now I wear a 12 junior. I feel wonderful and am looking better everyday. Especially for a 51 year old woman.
All because I finally understand how to eat

Good Luck To You

No dairy?--I hope that you are taking a calcium supplement, because there is no way that you are getting enough calcium.

I am going to refer concerns regarding the exemption of dairy, etc., in the diet, to Custom Built Personal Training. I know this is just a temporary diet, but I am sure there is an explanation. Also - does anyone know of an energy drink that is no sugar and no or low sodium? I sometimes resort to one before a workout if I am feeling a little beat.

I don't diet. I have made adjustments over the years such as simply not eating as much as I used to and not drinking milk anymore. Other than that, I pretty much enjoy the same things I have always enjoyed.

In response to Kelly Ann - the 6 week body tune-up is to lose weight AND tone up.

Good for you all! The diet really doesn't sound too bad. Giving up diet soda would be the hardest thing for me. So how much have you both lost so far?
Keep up the excellent work!

I am trying to work on eating 6 times a day versus just eating my main meal -dinner. It is hard for me to. I am so busy during the day that I am not really "hungry" until the afternoon. I hope that I can get better at this considering it would be much better for my metabolism.
Any suggestions?

Charlie- Tara and I have already lost some inches and pounds - but have not measured or weighed in with our trainer, Derrick. We will have an update half way through our six weeks to see the results so far. It will be our 3-week check-in and you can catch it on STYLE on April 2nd. It will also be up on the web after that.

Taylor- I still have a hard time eating six times a day as well. Check out my blog on the STYLE PAGE(Tara's on there too)and you can see what we've been eating and how many times a day. My suggestion is prepare, prepare, prepare! For instance, I cook about two pounds of chicken at a time and a few sweet potatoes. I portion it out and put them in containers that I can take to work and some to leave at home and just pop in the microwave. It's easier and quicker than trying to prepare something for every meal.(Eventhough I am eating the same thing numerous times!)I have a hard time eating early morning. We're not supposed to have peanut butter (I put the "natural" stuff on toast)- but it's one of the few things I can choke down that time of day! Good Luck!
