An animal rights group that gathers weekly outside a slaughterhouse in Burlington is asking the pig processing company to have each of its trucks entering the plant stop for a set amount of time outside its gates so activists can protest safely. Officials with Toronto Pig Save sent an email to several people, including Michael Latifi, CEO of Sofina Foods, parent company of Fearmans Pork.

Construction worker seriously injured after fall in Milton

A 55-year-old construction worker was knocked from his position atop a home under construction in Milton this afternoon.

The man fell 16 feet and was unconscious when Halton Regional Police Service arrived.
