More ski areas trying to reduce carbon footprint
The biggest impact comes from initial development or later expansion of the area: clearing trees, changing wildlife and vegetation habitats, altering watersheds. There's so much more, though, from transportation for skiers to get there, maintenance of the mountain and facilities mowing in the summer, snowmaking and trail grooming in the winter, heating the buildings to the pollution created by the factories making the clothing and equipment used for skiing.
Biff & Muffy don't care, life is all about, fun, fun, fun and ME,ME,ME.

Do we really need another reason?
Media Tell Us About Iraq War-Oil Connection Five Years After the Fact
If Iraq's main product had been video games, the media might have been quicker to ask tough questions about the war's effects on our kids' lives.
Afghan role in new power game
Indeed, plans for pipelines were underway in the mid-1990s -- but stumbled because of continuing instability in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.
Now the world's oil and gas companies will be eyeing the situation again as the Taliban crumbles.
Russia -- an enthusiastic supporter of the Northern Alliance -- is also thought to be keen to develop warm relations with a new regime in Kabul with a view to future initiatives in terms of oil and gas.
The primary attraction is the existence of oil and gas reserves in Central Asia.
Afghanistan is important because of its location between those reserves and the growing economies of south Asia.

So you are not worried about spewing all of that carbon in the name of recreation? Go snowshoeing instead, it's better for you, your wallet and the environment :)

Pfft- the elite love to ski, so it'll never be unPC to ski, or to drive your big suv to get there. It was the global elite insiders who came up with the scams of 'Global warming' and more recently 'Peak Oil' to control the masses more toward accepting (and paying for) the NWO/ global government.
the AlGoreythms had predicted 10 years ago that we wouldn't be able to ski NOW! They were desperate to get their carbon tax scheme passed but 'Mother Earth' was a bit ch to the scammers and their ability to bamboozle the sheeple, well except some that are still in denial of GLOBAL COOLING, even with mainstream scientists admitting it is a reality.

Let's just suppose that Global Warming is a myth created with the goal of putting into place a cap and trade policy. Why create cap and trade based on a myth? Suppose for a sec that the real reason for reducing our 'carbon footprint' is to reduce dependency on foreign oil, therefore increasing national security and keeping us out of wars?
