has anyone tried yo-cream? we were up in berkeley this weekend and went to some frozen yogurt places. we thought they had some of the better tart frozen yogurt we'd tried in the SF bay area. they used the yo-cream mix (which is a liquid, not powder).
I tried all the liquids yocream , rainbows end everything they all taste like lemony yogurt water not the real thing I was looking for , I spoke to the dairy who manufactures these mixes for company's such as golden spoon tcby and rainbows end he claimed he's been testing and attempting to recreate the pinkberry powder taste but its impossible to do so without using the powder which is not kosher and since most dairy's are kosher they cannot use it in their manufacturing facility.. But I did find the powder pinkberry uses they buy by drums and mix in with their yogurt base and that makes the difference ,( My friend who manages a pinkberry tipped me off to this) apparently the company is based in California with locations everywhere throughout the world.. the companys called Cielo Usa web address www.cielousa.com try for yourself they offer free samples to try out , I would suggest you try the cielo and yocream or any liquid or powder and see for yourself , it really is the secret ingredient pinkberry uses , I hope this helps you out in your search to recreate your own pinkberry yogurt

I checked cielousa.com and I am very interested in them. However, how can they be Pinkberry's distributor if their nutrition facts do not match (I compared per gram)?

Your website does not work, and have e-mailed you but no response! Please advise.
No reply via email, either. Cielo, where are you?

I am having trouble keeping everything straight. I am looking for advice from other business owners, not resellers or manufacturers. I keep hearing "you must use Taylor equipment" but then I also hear Well Spring makes perfectly fine equipment too. Which is it? Also, on one hand I hear a dry mixture can be VERY good and then on the other hand that dry mixes end up gritty.

Please, someone with real experience...

KCool,
Taylor's machines are very well known, therefore they are trusted practically everywhere. As for Well Spring, not nearly as many people have use their machines, so not as many can vouch for their scalability and reliability.

Dry mixes *can* be great, but they *can* be terrible, too. I believe that this varies on the distributor. I use this thread as a place to find distributors. Then, I will narrow them down and find the one I like. If their samples taste terrible, I will try another distributor.

Tommy, I too have been trying to find Cielo but with no success. Their website does not work and searching Google has not yielded anything. Have you had any luck finding Cielo. Wickepedia says they have their USA headquarters in Chino, CA.
Thanks

Hello,
Okay, I finally got a hold of Cielo. He was apologetic for not replying, and in the phone call, I got all the answers I needed. Their phone number is 1.877.OK.CIELO. Their email address is [email protected] The DO NOT distribute Pinkberry products. In fact, Pinkberry manufactures their own yogurt. Their website was never down for me, so check back and see if it is up ( http://cielousa.com ).
KCool, I have not heard of Stoelting machines. However, I haven't been reseaching the machine market pretty much as I have my mind set on Taylor.
P.S. The machines that Pinkberry uses can only be bough new. They run at about 16,000$ to 17,000$.

I made a big post, but I dont know what happened to it. I'm writing it again.

@KCool
I have not heard of Stoelting machines, but I am not looking very hard at other brands as I am set on Taylor.

Pinkberry doesn't get their yogurt from Cielo USA. In fact, they make their own.

Cielo USA telephone: 877.OK.CIELO
Cielo USA email: [email protected]
The site has never been down for me, so you may want to check back now ( http://cielousa.com ).
I finally got ahold of Cielo. The guy was apologetic for being unavailable, and in that phone call I got all my questions answered.

We are planning to open up a frozen yogurt kiosk in Los Angeles area. We were reffered to a Italian yogurt powder supplier but their stuff is EXPENSIVE! Runs like 40 bucks for 1kg bag (roughly 2.2lbs).
Could anyone give us recommand for a quality supplier or brand?
Besides where we can get the best deal on cups, cones etc?
Thanks a million!"

I am looking into opening a frozen yogurt business. I really do not want to start a franchise because I find their franchise fee to be quite high! I would really like any help I can get to research further into this business. Are there any consultants out there who can walk me from beginning to end on opening a frozen yogurt business? Please email so we can discuss: [email protected]

Thanks!
