While your in Washington you should do a video that could be put on Utube which should help accomplish your goal of seeing these used across the nation. I'm in Erie by the way.

Chester Lee calls it a "bee pole" -- 6 feet of decomposing timber that he smooths out, drills a series of holes into, and plants 2 feet into the ground.

looks like Amish wood, untreated, 1/4 in holes? Pretty neat and bet you can find out if you write him or do more research online. PA Ag.

Pisshh Id 10 T not Amish tree, Amish wood, maple or a hardwood untreated is what it looks like but call the newpaper or write and see if he will share what type it is.

You say native North Ameican bees don't colonize or produce honey, back in the l920's,my grandfather would find a wild bee tree full of honey, what type of bees were these if not native american. thank you p.s. i use to keep bees
