McDonald’s employees lied about the contents of their food, directly causing thousands of children and adults (including myself and my son) to become sick. It is a despicable act.-tom (temp@ths.com)

Would you give a four year child Opium? Do you think it is a crime for someone to drug a child in this manner? My four year old daughter has Celiac Autism. Gluten is leaked into her bloodstream through her intestines. That gluten has an opiate like effect when it reaches her brain. I am very careful about what she eats and read labels on everything that goes into her mouth. McDonald's misrepresented their french fires as "gluten free". For over a year I've been unknowingly drugging her and increasing her autistic symptoms. We'll never know the extent of the brain damage she's incured because of this. I am livid that a company would allow people to harm children. Don't worry about "tiny balls", McDonald's needs to be more concerned with the size of the ovaries of a woman whose child they've harmed!

Celiac is a growing problem and is beign diagnosed more often. I was not diagnosed until 20 and I have a friend that was not diagnosed until 40. It causes life long issues, and it is not an exaggeration. Imagien havign a doctor tellign you that everything you have ever eaten has been killign you and everythign that you enjoy eating is no longer good for you. Tell me that you would feel okay about that. McDonalds flat out LIED! They have been hurting people on purpose so that their profits would not hurt. I know that there profits will start to suffer now. It is thought that between 1 out of 350-500 people has celiac. You think any of them will ever eat there again?

People with Celiac disease do NOT eat McDonalds french fries everyday. We are not all overwieght, but we do like to eat french fries every once in a while. The fact that McDonalds told us that it was ok to eat them is wrong. Celiac is an allergy. If McDonalds told people with severe peanut allergies that their food did not contain peanuts even though it did, that would be wrong also. To make such an ignorant statement shows just how uniformed you really are about this disease. This is not spilling hot coffe in your lap and suing. This is being told that it is safe to eat something when they know it is not. They need to take responsibility for their actions. And you need to have more compassion.

The incident of spilling hot coffee is irrelevant to this discussion. People with Celiac Disease do a lot of research to be sure that what they are eating is ok for them. McDonalds listed french fries on their list of gluten free foods. The customer has no choice but to trust this multi billion dollar company and the research they supposedly do. Before spouting off about something you obviously know NOTHING about, do a little research. Just like the Celiacs do!

I want the CEO of McDonalds to come to my house and tell my 6 year old daughter, who has Celiac Disease, that she can no longer eat McDonald's fries because he LIED. 6 Year Olds understand lieing but they don't understand the long term effects of exposure to Gluten/Wheat......CANCER.

It's all about greed. Big companies don't give a crap about the general public or their health. They're just concerned with their profit margin. They deserve to be sued!

I know the money is nothing compared to your child's health. They need to be held accountable for their unscrupulous practices though. I hope they have to pay dearly for misleading the public.

You are a moron that can't even spell. Before you comment on something please take the time to educate yourself on it. Obviously you have a computer so go goggle "Celiac disease" sweetie. I dare you to tell me that McDonalds isn't responsible for outright lieing to the public.

Amen...I am with you! My son has Celiac and high-functioning autism and we have been spending lots of money on supplements and special gluten-free foods and only gave him french fries for special treats or rewards. It breaks my heart due to being lied to we were unknowingly drugging him. Most people don't understand this and need to be educated. I hope someone does a newstory on it nationally so that we can get the word out and we aren't looked at as sue happy parents. I am angry and now very distrusting of any labels or restaurants. I feel like I should quit my job and stay home and make him everything from scratch. We have to unite and stick together and make them accountable or it will continue to happen.

I quit my high paying job when my daughter did not do well with any childcare situation. I only work a two hours a day at a child care center and keep my children with me. Most everything she does eat is made from scratch or purchased at a health food store. Whenever she plays at a friend's house or visits family, I bring her food with her. We stopped at McDonald's maybe twice a month for french fries and a toy as a special treat. You're right we do have to stick together. Our children's voices and their plight will never be heard unless we start shouting.

What world do you live in? Do you have any level of eduction? Children with Celiac Disease have a very very limited diet and McDonald's French Fries is one of the very few fast food items these children could access. Clearly you have no children nor do you have any concept of the importance of socialization. Go to a chat room where you will fit in.

hell i'm 22 in college and i have Celiac disease (i just found out 6 months ago and it's somewhing to which i wish on NO ONE) and well i'm busy so i eat out alot. i'd take a break from studying and go get fries or something. it was something that i knew was a safe thing to eat. but it wasn't. i began to think something wasn't right when i would get sick after i "knew" i hadn't had anything with wheat gluten in it. for those that are reading this and don't know what not being able to eat wheat is like here's the chort story on it.....take everything thing you loved as a child all the snake cakes cookies, pop tarts, cereal, chicken noodle soup, breads. cut that out of your diet (those are the obivious things). now for the not so obvious.... flavoring in potato chips, some deli meats, tv dinners, flavoring in chinease, soups, anything with a perservative in it, things that say "modified food starch" (which is everything), ice tea...get the picture?.
now you think ok so goof once in awhile and get hives (which is something we don't get i'd rather deal with hives then with what i do have) or a little tunny ache) not so much.... imagine waking up at 2am to the WORST gas cramp of your life. you're doubled over in pain and not even an antacid is gonna help you. you try to ride it out... then you get sick and start heaving your guts out. other times you have to run the the bathroom because everything is running though you and you have diarea from hell. and the BEST times it's coming out both ends WOOT. good time let me tell you. i don't say this to gross you out but to make a point that we don't like this so we go out of our way NOT to eat anything with wheat gluten. I'm kinda upset that i've been doing this to myself and not knowing the cause where there was an answer all along. they just didn't want to say anything. not to mention if you have celiacs and eat wheat gluten (which messes with your sm intestine) you can get tumors which then lead to cancer. once again this doesn't sound like a good time to me

so... in short i have a problem with McDonalds knowing this all along and not telling anyone... they knew about wheat gluten becuase it was on their website but not on the fries....if they didn't have it listed on anything to begin with and then added everything that would be another story..but this is not the case.
