Yes there is. You could bring him to a local (or far away) vet. That would be best. Having a broken beak is very painful for the duck and really the only way to be fixed is by a vet. Feed him soft food, and have plenty of water. make sure the other ducks dont touch the beak. clean the wound (if any) with rubbing alcohol, which is safe for ducks. (or peroxide) just try not to let him swallow much.

For the past year my baby ducks have matured and wonder around my country meadows. Well at night they go in like the chickens and I close the door to their enclosure only to let them out again in the day time. This has been going on month in, month out until three days ago. At night there is some creature that has been digging under the enclosure and snatching the ducks out. The chickens go upstairs to roost so they are currently exempt. The two ducks that did not get dragged through have severly chipped or half missing beeks. They generally keep mud on it and are otherwise normal but this beek business really bothers me... terribly. I don't have vet money, far too, too expensive and I am at a loss what to do. Will it grow back like our fingernail or something. I have reinforced the sleeping area for then with brick, large pieces of wood and heavy-gage chicken wire. It looks like a fortress but ya' have to do whatever ya' can to stop this.
Please help !!!

Guy Newman- you are incredibly innapropriate and I think you're making up advice... I honestly hope people don't take yours. And go to a vet or someone with more credibility with their concerns.

I had a full grown female malard with a broken beak enter my yard with my other birds. She hung around all day. I have a pond across the street and a gate around my property. She was hungry withbroken beak that seemed like an old injury. I fed her some bread and gave her a bowl of water. I just learned seed is no good but of course with my feeders she got attracted and I read seed and bread are no good. Should I get some cracked corn and feed her eggs or shoo her away? She is very tame. Here is the funny one, a big pile of seagulls swooped down and a big cat came out of nowhere and ran them all off. She came back an hour later, she could be pregnant. Any advise would be grateful.

I have a little duckling with what looks like a smashed or flattened beak. He eats fine now; can't imagine what he went through before coming to live with us. So, I'm guessing they will heal on their own, they just might not look the same after. Also, NEVER give ducks BREAD; it swells in their throats and can choke them to death. Instead, feed them cracked corn or other duck feed.

I have a duck with its lower beak missing. It is domestic gone wild, I have been feeding it wet bread for months now and it is doing nicely. Looks funny though as its tongue hangs down as their is no bottom beak to support it.

I have a male mallard hanging around and the top part of his beak is cracked and starting to split off. Anything I can feed him to make it easier on him. He seems to have a hard time eating corn. He has adopted me and follows me around everywhere. Even follows me in the house.

I think your friend should f***ing die for doing that. As should you for having him as your friend. I hope you both go to hell for doing that to a helpless animal.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Aquarius

It's a sociable and gregarious mood my dears, so it would be a shame to keep yourself to yourself. Not that there's much likelihood of that, because with the Moon in Leo and your seventh house of others, your popularity is on the rise and you're in demand. Why not go out with your other half, or meet some friends? Get everyone together for a drink or a meal.
