Hundreds of fast-food workers and their supporters chanted, pounded on drums, blew horns and slapped tambourines Thursday to demand wages of at least $15 an hour and the right to unionize without retaliation.

What incentive is there for kids to do well in school if low skill jobs pay $15 to start? The whole idea of starter jobs is that it is meant to be done for earning teens a few extra bucks. It never was meant as a career unless you were seeking to become manager or even a franchise owner after college.
