Kathie, you do know how to write about burgers, and perhaps that's because you get so much practice at it!

OMG - Gordy's is THE BOMB!!! You simply HAVE to stop if you are driving by!!! In fact, it is worth the drive to Cloquet just to go there!!!

I agree with Sconnie Brian. And don't overlook the fish sandwich. It is as good as the burger in its own right. Anyone know if Gordy his own self is still taking orders at the counter?

Yep. Gordy still there but I believe his kid has pretty much taken over running it the last few years. Great place and great burgers, can remember stopping there before they had any indoor seating and was walk up only.

The double down from KFC should be illegal as it looks like the most unhealthy food ever devised.

Gordy's has always been the half way stopping point for my family. I grew up in Ft. Frances, Ont and have had most of my family down in the Twin Cities. Everytime we come down for a visit we would stop both coming and going. I can't wait to stop on the way to the Rainy Lake this summer.

Kathie, Cheryl and Sue at the Lakeside are good people--their (superb but tongue in cheek) service is half the fun! Haven't you noticed their T-Shirts? "Where the customer is always wrong?" They know before we sit down what we want to drink and are pals with all their regulars. And you are right about the burgers! The steaks and fries are also the best! Hot and sizzling on stainless steel platters. Yum!

I stopped in ate at Gordy's and the food was OK. The disturbing thing that I experienced is the conversation that I had heard that later I found out was coming from the Gordy the owners son Dan Lundquist he was making comments on the Boy Scouts of America saying that they were all dumb I couldn't believe what I was hearing because that a group of Boy Scouts have just went through the line providing their business for Gordy's. There was alot more said that I do not care to comment on. After awhile that conversation ended. It seemed he had to take that meaness to his employees someone has to tell them that its the employees that make Gordy's work not the other way around I will never visit that establishment again thats to bad because that was a place I liked to frequent. That situation with a female employee crying. I am a concerned Christian and I thought people should know what was happening there.
