I like the idea of bringing back the Tahitian Lanai name.

What about changing Don Hos' to Sam Kapu's!?!

It cannot be called Sam Kapu's because it cannot remain open all night, Outrigger will not let Mrs. Marsha Kapu cannot play Pakini everyday, Uncle Sam's book deal will fall through- he will tell all his bestest of the best stories, the Christmas lights and chairs cannot leave the Duval premises. I love Uncle Sam and his family!!!

I think Sam Kapu's would be awesome! I wuld definitely hit that spot. Local people would flock like birds to that place. I really think it's something to think about, have an all-day happy hour, and local style pupu's, not chicken nuggets and stuff, things like sardines and onion, opae, and chili-peppa wata has to replace tabasco on every table.

I'm glad they are removing Don's name - the restaurant is not worthy of his name. Service is bad, entry ways and bathrooms are messy: I talked to the manager one day about the conditions and he looked the other way - dismissed my comments and me.

I've visited Hawaii several times and love this restaurant. The food and ambience are great! Sorry to hear they'll lose the name of Don Ho but I hope people will realize that nothing has changed...only the name!

I love the restaurant and think the food is delicious and the ambiance is warm and inviting. I'm sorry to hear that they can no longer use Don Ho's name but I think Tahitian Lanai is a great name also because it continues the message of Hawaii from years ago and with the beach front dining it fits well.

I agree with dude about the bathrooms. Why is there an old fut man hanging out in there handing me paper towels from a dispenser? It was freaky! And he wants tips? Go be a waiter at Exotic Nights, those old men who serve drinks at least bring you something. To the new owners of Tahitian Lanai- clean the bathrooms and get rid of the attendant!

This place has a great "happy hour" menu where you can get $2.50 beers on tap and well drinks. Awesome delas on food such as surfboard pizza ($6 ), baby back ribs ($6 ),
kalua pig quesadilla ($4 ), portuguese sausage fried rice ($4 ), qtr lb cheeseburger with fries ($5 ), etc. Sunday brunch is a great alternative with prime rib, omelete station, waffle station, fresh fruits, chicken, fish, kaula pig, etc. for $20 adults,$16 seniors,$10 keiki.

Judith, I like "Tiny Bubbles" too. It's sad to think all the relatives are fighting for MONEY and forgetting that the Don Ho name means so much to many of us. Don's name should be out there like the Duke Kahanamoku statue...all to see, all to remember that great song Tiny Bubbles sung by the one and only.
