"lift your standards"? This from someone who still uses "OMG" as a declarative statement...what a laugh!

Hendel's is a very nice place with good food, a comfortable atmosphere, good service and reasonable prices. People who are not trying to be pseudo snobs can enjoy a relaxing lunch and/or dinner. Hendel's is an excellent choice.

Those persons who are under the mistaken belief they are somehow superior in any manner would not find the cafe to their liking and should not patronize the establishment. We regular folks prefer not to have our dinner spoiled by the presence of such small minded, egotistical, boring and tacky people.

Admittedly Hendels was a bit rough around the edges the first few years, but I think that it has above average food now and certainly above average ambiance both inside and out. On par with any of the ambiance places on Mainstreet STCharles. Summer evenings out back are really nice. No need to adjust standards IMHO, take if for what it is. Don't like it, don't eat there.

...opinion and no one should make nasty responses to your post. My question would be to you, why do you do the same? Are you as insecure as the others who make juvenile comments?

Where someone chooses to spend their money is really no one's business but theirs. And saving money is not a character flaw it is good common sense, especially in this economy. I've always wonder why some people pay so much for a meal when the end result is the same whether you dine at Tony's or Denny's. Whether you pay $100 for a meal or $10.00 sooner or later the "leftover" gets flushed down the same place.

i like places like hendels, bunkers, devers places where you can set outside and enjoy the weather, in the summer of coarse. florissant has many nice places to eat. good food and atmosphere at many of the restaurants here. just stay away from 54th street bar and grill,it's like a zoo and has many cars broken into on their lot.

I keep hearing good things about Bunkers but I haven't tried it yet. Is it one of those places where you can actually relax without having some over zealous server/barkeep hanging over you all the time?

i was really surpised at how good the food was there.same kid waited on us and the wife and i have to laugh alittle as we always think about when our kids started their first jobs. we always treat them like we would want our kids to be treated. i do believe in eating good and enjoying yourself ,but have always taught my kids to save some money also. you'll never have anything in this life if you have no money skills, either that or you'll end on the repo man list.

Thats because Bunkers is a dump, where you can no longer get food, and there is NO service. Don't waste your time.
