In case you didnt know the majority of those working at Savoy were the same people who worked at the Deming Truck stop before it was closed last time.

The owners of the Deming Truck stop our out of Denver, Colorado, I cant remember but yes they are of India decent, they are nice people however they are here just to make a profit and they did not really invest much in the reopening of the facility, The owner had told me they were going to do a complete face lift... lol... and that they were going to have prices lower the gas station by the baptist church... maybe happened the 1st month... but all he did was increase the business for the smaller gas station. The trailer park next to the truck stop need to either be demolished or the city buy used FEMA trailers.. no matter how much trash and weeds you take out, it still is an eye soar, painting the trailers is a waste of money. The surrounding buildings need to come down. The city council needs to come down on the owners of all these properties.,,, then again the owners are probably with the good ole boys of the Deming politicians and the council... come on Deming we can have a cleaner and better Deming..
We need to start at the truck stop and work our way east.. starting with all owners of the properties..either sell the properties, or fine the owners (high fines), maybe that will get them moving to do something..

It is true there was/is a rumor. The rumor itself was/is not true but for a time anyway is proving damaging to the business.

The Savoy maybe having their troubles too. A ton of money was put into that place for a face lift, looks good too. Don't know who the owners are, but a good source told me that after the renovation and re-opening they couldn't pay the company for the gas that was delivered on one occasion. The bookkeeper there was asked to "juggle" numbers in her book also, but think that was turned that down and wouldn't do it. Then the Pink Store and Savoy had a disagreement over merchandise the Pink Store carries there. The Pink Store sold some items there and wasn't getting their fair share of the profits, as if someone was holding back, but perhaps they eventually got that straightened out. So some odd things are happening at Savoy and seems they were, or still are, having money problems. Don't know for sure if all has been straightened out, but didn't look good for awhile.

My understanding was they had a cash squeeze induced by rumor when forced to pay cash but they got thru it. Now running in the black with positive cash flow. Tough business with small margins. As rumor is fought and people understand they should do better, much better. Savoy employs a lot of folks and it would be bad if they close and doubly bad if the closing resulted from a false rumor that enough people believed to become a self-fulfilling p[rophecy.

One thing I failed to mention was that "good source" was one of their own employees, so I really don't believe it was rumors at all. But glad to hear that they're now running in the black because I sometimes go there not only to enjoy some good food and good service, I really enjoy the art work on the walls and all the items they have for sale, a very good assortment of things. I would also hate to see this place close, many would lose their jobs, so let's hope the Savoy Truck Stop moves ahead and keeps in the black.

Food not that good. Served me soup with raw hamburger meat in it. I was shocked and of course did not eat it.
While I was trying to eat I had kids playing on the chairs on either side of me. I couldn't believe the folks at the stop didn't direct the children somewhere else. A man came in and placed a small child on the counter almost in front of me but ignored the children who while I like kids, don't want them bouncing up against me while I'm trying to eat.
Just can't say I've seen anything positive here. I hate it cause I know it's family owned and I'd love to write a good review but.....
