Thank you, Audrey. Once again you show that freedom and liberty are the solution, not the problem.
The final vote is set to start at 9:15. You can watch the live feed here: http://www.cspan.org/Watch/C-SPAN2.aspx

Andrea hit the nail on the head. Most of us ARE grassroots, independent free-thinkers regardless of whether we vote Democrat, Republican or Independent or even not at all because most of us are quite capable of surviving day to day without government intervention.
If nothing else, this food bill is no different than any other dangerous bill presented to our nation over the last few years. Everything from TARP to Cap and Trade to the health care reform bill to this food bill has the exact same pattern. Bigger, expensive government intervention in private lives with the goal of expanding government on the backs of hard-working taxpayers.
Rural VT WANTS this bill to pass even though they have this song posted on their site:
They also want you to tell Leahy and Sanders to pass it. It's sad to see how influenced they are by Sanders and Leahy but maybe their members will help them see the light.

Perhaps Rural VT is like many organizations in that there stated agenda is just a front to raise money, while they truly are just another advocate of more and more government control over land, businesses, homes ... our lives ... and more and more tax payer dollars funneled to their organization.
AARP, then NEA, Green Peace, U.S. Humane Society are but four examples. It really comes down to leveraging power or control what rightfully belongs to someone else.

Very poignant argument for what ails food and drug control, when the agency akin to FEMA, can not do anything but regulate. Who regulates them? Drug companies and large companies, leaving the "little guy", et al, totally helpless. A time will come when the small farm WILL prevail, provided Monsanto and Dupont doesn't bankrupt them first.
I read an interesting thing about not being able to buy raw milk, and found that raw milk has extremely powerful healthy qualities, far outweighing the negative risks....OH that's right, they don't want us healthy, so the FDA can add more pills to the roster of "new and improved medicines". Some fatcat back-scratching, eh?
