The 'Great Pizza Throwdown' is coming to a restaurant near you

Oct 5, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Star Online

Who knew there was so much pizza in Gaston and Cleveland counties? Since the first column in the pizza throwdown ran last week, my email box at gastonfood@yahoo.com has lit up like a Christmas tree with suggestions, exhortations, endorsements and ideas.

Oh boy! Another chance for Simonettis to whip the (so called) competition. As we all know there really is no competition when it comes to the best pie around. The freshest of ingredients equals the most flavorful pizza around!! Taste for yourself! Can't believe this guy went to johnnie C's. What a wasted trip that was...

I question the author's judgement based upon this comment from the article:

"To me, a good cheese pizza should take me back to the days of childhood, when mom would make cheese toast to go with tomato soup in the winter. The cheese needs that bit of browning on top to finish the job."

Cheese toast with tomato soup is his basis for a good pie?

Really?

IMHO: The best pizzas in Belmont are as follows:

1. Johnnie B's
2. Demitrios
3. Jax

Jerry is at it again. Trust me when I tell you all he is either posting these reviews or getting his staff to do it. He asked me to get on here and smear the name of other pizza joints when I worked for him. Otherwise I would have never knew this site existed. You fool no one Jerry.

That's odd because Johnny B's told me to do the same thing as well. But to slam Simonettis even though they were voted best pizza 2 years in a row.

Dude - The Mellow Mushroom and CPK are in Charlotte!

Although the CPK is really good, SouthPark Mall doesn't remotely count as Belmont or even Gaston County.

Papa John's ain't bad, but I prefer local independent restaurants over chain franchises.

Simonettis in general has no atmosphere poor quality and no class your store is a mixture of white trash and geriatrics and your pizza taste of sheep Shit and cardboard with cheese. Your place has no class and is the cesspool of all redneck humanity. Fun Fact: Simonettis sucks 100% of the time every time
