Idgy's offers a gluten-free bonanza

Jul 14, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Cape Cod Times

I heard about Idgy's restaurant long before I accidentally had breakfast there. A co-worker who is gluten-intolerant left me a message, which was soon followed by a menu and a suggestion that I check out Idgy's Facebook page.

An associate who was working on the Cape filling in for a vacationing employee happens to have Celiac Disease. As a result of your article on "Idgy's" Gluten Free Restaurant I highly recommended it. Unfortunately her experience was less than satisfactory. She arrived at 5:50pm not realizing that the store closed at 6. The "OPEN" sign was still up so she thought she would be ok. Although several customers were getting take-out from the oven (which was still on) they would not honor her request for anything hot responding that "everything was shut off". She then asked for a slice of quiche and asked them if they would microwave it for her. They did so very reluctantly after her "pleading". There were only two tables to sit at not six as indicated in the article. Since customer service is probably 90% of an enjoyable eatery it is unfortunate that she was treated so inhospitably. I will have to withhold any future reccommendations for Idgy's.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Idgy's 100% gluten-free restaurant! They have a HUGE selection of gluten free food. Their staff appeared courteous and professional and their quality of food was really good. I would recommend Idgy's to everyone - even if they don't have to eat gluten free food. Five *****'s from me!
