Just dined at Crazy Jakes. Don't think I'll be back. Wait was too long service was horrible and so was the food. Way way to pricey for a restaurant in NT.

I have gone to Crazy Jakes a few times, I have to bring someone different each time and each time they love it! It's great to see a local business do so well and bring a touch of class to the area. The service has been slow at times but certainly nothing to deter me from going back again and bringing someone new!

Was lucky enough to be invited to a party held in the banquet room. Food was delicious!!! I am not much of a meat eater, but the roast beef was excellent! I am going to go back for dinner this week. The band was also enjoyable.

They are already being investigated for health department violations. Sad to see the place get off to a rocky start.

Horrible, waited way too long for a table, no waitress for at least 15 min. food took forever. appetizer was burnt, and very late arriving. too expensive for what we got. Freezing in there. Nice staff, but perhaps not enough for volumn of customers. Won't go back, or refer anyone there. Tons of great resaurants to go to,so you better spead it up

I love the place and it's an incredible addition to the Tonawanda's. The biggest problem that I have is that being a local, professional, entertainer I can't get a return call or performance date there. They've chosen to give people in from other parts of WNY.

I have no issues getting performances at places like Bar Louie, The Scotch & Sirloin, Harry's, Average Joe's and literally 100's of other establishments. It's too bad someone that has lived in North Tonawanda his whole life has to leave the city to get a gig.

Great food, drinks and atmosphere though!

Keep an eye on the food quality. I know a cook there and he basically nukes EVERYTHING from a cardboard tray. Some fresh meat and vegetables would be appreciated. Also, keep an eye on the watered-down booze. In this day and age there is no reason to cut the liquor folks. Wake up.

I always enjoy myself when I am there. Have been there several times. The staff is friendly and entertaining. Have yet to eat there though.. Soon hopefully. But I have heard that the wings are very good. Great addition to NT.

A completely objective review,,,I am from Pittsburgh..via NYC…No ties whatsoever to Crazy Jakes and not a regular to the Buffalo Area…
I am a graduate from a prominent culinary school and have been a national sales manager for a large wine company for many years…
My Review:
We went to Crazy Jakes this Friday evening after reading a very favorable review in The Buffalo News…and was very impressed by the professional attitude of the obviously stressed front room manager..after a ordering a few beers and a glass of wine from a bartender who was clueless of the selection the bar offered..we were seated within 20 minutes in the banquet room..a sort of made up dining room in a bland area of the back of the restaurant…we were only a party of five and passed 3 open round tables near the back of the establishment (main room)…(by the way we were never asked if we had a choice of being in the main room or being seated in restaurant Siberia)…a waitress who seemed she didn’t want to be there..or was having a bad night, took our order…now the fun began!! Or one of my worst dining experiences was unfolding…the server proceeded to forgot our drinks…be completely oblivious of us…and not give a damn paying customers were there…the food came out quickly..we all ordered fish..a dish that came highly recommended…it was now getting worse…2 orders came out nicely done and the party was impressed and really loved the fare…then it happened…3 orders of beer battered fish not done completely..a gooey batter on a great piece of fish…and potato salad with hard potatoes..we called our server over to ask her to redo the order because it wasn’t done right…and she said we needed to talk to the manager..the manager came over and honestly just asked us what we wanted to replace it..no apology whatsoever!!...25 minutes later the people in our party were served the replacement dishes..a full 15 minutes after others had finished their meal…the apology that the server reluctantly offered for the delay was weak and insincere…plus we never saw the manager again….after getting my replacement dish I was unimpressed and really wondered what the hoopla was…I replaced my beer batter with a bland broiled version with not much seasoning and and obviously fake butter oil…tried to eat it..paid the bill…and left…I left my cell number with the front room person but never got the courtesy of a call…I want to thank Crazy Jakes and their staff for a unsatisfying evening….I do hope them the best..it is a wonderful looking joint!!..great looking bar..and and amazingly gorgeous main room… but will never recommend it..sad…really sad…
Suggestions:
Train staff to own their tables…do whatever is needed to please the customer..
Owner driven…owner needs to take time to get place up to standards..we saw him expediting orders but never came over to see if we had been satisfied of the resolution..
Kitchen standards….all orders need to be checked on the way out..bring quality to every plate..Whether it is Tuesday or Friday…

If anyone wants to ask me a question about the place..please email me at tedruggiero@yahoo.com

Crazy Jake's is a great place to stop by for a drink or lite snack in a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere in NT. I have been consistently underwhelmed with their dining service. Usually poor/slow wait staff and mostly mediocre food. I will continue to go there but I have no expectations for anything other than occasional drinks and middling casual dining (i.e., when ordering, stick to basic bar fare). Then I'm never disappointed :)

Crazy Jake's Restaurant is a place with an serious identity crisis...is it a sports bar or is it a fine dining establishment? I've been there several times and find I have a hard time paying fine dining prices ($25-30) for an entree while the riff raff strolls by and the game plays on one of several large screen TVs.(No, the higher prices do not keep some of NT's finest derelicts out). Last visit cost $80 for two drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees. Add one more round of after dinner drinks for each of us and we were at $100 bucks. Way too pricey for what you get. I agree with Ted Ruggiero's unbiased and unsolicited review. Owners and management are way too cocky and unapologetic for bad service and poor food. Part of the price paid in fine dining is for the service and ambiance which lacks here. Decide what Crazy Jake's is (hint: it is a sports bar) and be really good at that. Those wanting to pay for a fine dining experience, look elsewhere.

Mr. Ruggiero,
As a graduate of a prominant school, I'd expect your grammar and spelling capabilities to exceed that of a three year old.
That nonsense aside, I've been to Crazy Jake's several times. I've never had poor service, never waited a MOMENT for a seat, and always enjoyed a delicious meal. Crazy Jake's is, by no means, a run of the mill sports bar, it has a TV near the bar, as do many other fine establishments.
On our last visit I ordered a stuffed fish dish that was to die for. Flavourful, served with fresh salad and vegetables, accompanied by a fantastic artichoke appetizer. I dined with another friend who raved about her chicken and we split a wonderful bottle of wine. Our bill barely topped $30.00.
Our server, Nicole, was a darling, and made sure to check up on us and made friendly conversation, making us feel very welcome.
I'd recommend Crazy Jake's to anyone and look forward to going back.

As for my spelling and grammar...I wrote the review in quite a hurry waiting for a plane....as well as there being an error in the topix software when you copy and paste that I was not aware of when I wrote the review..I apologize for the errors..we all arent English teachers..and I am glad as well as quite surprised at your consistently good experiences there...as a follow up my friend who I had dined there with that night returned to give it another try...she was disappointed again...so enjoy your luck as long as you can...also I called again and wrote a letter to the establishment..and no one returned my correspondence...not what I expect from a local restaurant...
