Scouts go back to old cookie bakers

my daughter sold cookies last year and we had several people get their money back and some who returned their remaining boxes. i bet that had a lot more to do with it then the plan being in line with GS objectives

Reading articles like this is an insult to ones intelligence. Who are they kidding? They new sales would slump because of their switch and the adverse publicity already in the market for their product. Taste and profit margin are the only two factors for consideration! It's a fund raiser! Why else would people pay their price for the net weight? What a BS, public relations article.

On a similar note.... Girls are not allowed to sell any non-GS product to protect their non-profit status, yet National can "partner" with Dairy Queen?

For a "non-profit" organization, they sure are a healthy group at the executive level at the expense of their consumers and membership.

Think twice before you buy their products... direct donations to your local troops or little family scout is the best way to BE SURE they will benefit from your dollars.. the other way is to VOLUNTEER your time if possible. Without volunteers to help out, the little ones will surely suffer.

ASK QUESTIONS - DO RESEARCH - YOU WILL SEE WHERE SOME CUTS CAN BE MADE THAT WILL (A) BENEFIT THE CHILDREN (B) ENSURE THE PROGRAMS WILL CONTINUE AS THEY ARE IF NOT IMPROVE (C) PRESSURE THE EXECUTIVES MAKING 6 FIGURES AT THE LOCAL LEVEL AND YES FOLKS, THEY DO MAKE 6 FIGURES FOR SOME POSITIONS IF NOT HIGH 5 FIGURES INTO ACTUALLY EARNING THEIR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

Live on 5 or similar investigators would have a field day with this type of thing.. long-term volunteers know this is the truth. Employees who have taken other turns in the road know its the truth and those cashing their pay checks from within that organization know as well..

TAKE A STAND FOLKS - IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE CHILDREN - IT HAS TO START SOMEPLACE.. WHY DOES THE CHANGE HAVE TO BE JUST WITH THE "BAKERY"?

I have to laugh at some of you folks. That journalist lady, I percieve her to be female, is the only person with enough gumption to make you think and you put spam all over her page. Can't you answer the question. Do Girl Scouts take an oath for God and country like the Boy Scouts or have the feminists taken over. I won't by another cookie until you answer the question.

I have been reding her comments the past couple of weeks and I think the ABJ should hire her. Maybe the newspaper wouldn't feed the dead parts of your brain anymore

You should take notice of "use resources wisely" in the Girl Scout Law. I don't see paying anyone in the non-profit sector where CHILDREN are peddling their wares 6 figure salaries. Sorry.
