About damn time. That's what happens when people make living off the government a way of life. Period. You have exhausted it financially, and now you're going to see more cuts. People who work jobs experience this same thing at times. Brace yourself, or perhaps get a job.

..You mean people in that town might have to actually get a job? And by work I mean: Not selling your prescription drugs, living off of someone's child support, or whatever else you do to scam the system!

There are people that "use" the system, and then there are the working poor. These are the people working their asses off,and getting nowhere. These are the people, and their children, that are going to suffer. Go celebrate that! Yay hungry people!!!!

There needs to be a better way to monitor the system. For Christs sake how hard is it to keep track of who gets what and for how long. Who works and who doesn't etc. The system does need an overhaul but I think there can be a better way than cutting the amount of benefits.

Many of the people who get food stamps do work....read the articles about Walmart employees. I wish our government would cut corporate welfare...that would be a big savings!

How's this "hope and change" working for you?

May I suggest that if you want a better life than a job at Walmart, get an education...Just another "freebie" that you should check out.

many people do not have that option. Too busy trying to support their families. How do u go to school and work fulltime? Online? No computer. Weekends? Children every wkend. Days off? What days off?

The amounts are going back to where they were before the stimulus program. It is not a cut.

What is not understood is the A in SNAP is ASSISTANCE. To help with food purchases.
It doesn't mean to buy every bite of food bought, but to assist in buying food.

How many people have lost jobs and have had to cut the grocery purchases by more than $10.00 a month!!!
This is so meager it isn't worth all the hoop de la we are hearing about the SNAP being cut, like it is a huge amount of money. Good grief. That is $2.50 a week. Does that sound like a lot of money to you?

Apparently, the taxpayers are supporting your family. What is keeping you so busy? If you are irresponsible enough to have made babies you couldn't afford to provide for on the wages your education and skill level pay, that is your own fault. There is no reason why the taxpayers should be expected to support you or feed your kids. You're the parent, get busy and provide for the babies you made. Get a better job, get another job, learn to live within your means.

You apparently have some unnecessary toys as you are using something to post on the internet. Sell the toys and use the money to buy food for your children.

Minimum wage work=minimum wage pay. Tell him to find a better job if he wants to make more money. Nobody is going to pay him $20 an hour to flip burgers.

Especially when all the illegals here will work any job for less and expect no benefits. Thats why they want to make them legal so the rich can get richer, plenty of workers for the chicken and egg factories thats dangerous to your health, landscaping, food service and all the other filthy long hour jobs that employers want to pay so low that they can live like kings while workers lack proper food, health care and necessities. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you is something alot of employers have never heard of.

I personally know half a dozen guys who went to North Dakota to work the oil rigs, and they're making close to $100,000 a year, and they're always looking for more help.

So tell your dirtbag son to get off his lazy ass and do some real work, and he'll get some real pay. Otherwise, quit your complaining. You losers aren't going to get something for nothing.

You tell her to raise family on such low wages, which is why the rest of have worked hard to better ourselves to not have to. Thought it was interesting on news they had woman say she'd like to see the people making these decisions come into her home and make the food last. How about saying thank you for the several hundred a month food assistance you get that we are paying for? Like I've said before, if you can't support your kids they should be put in foster, rather than our taxes take care of lazy parents in order to feed those kids. I'd rather taxes give as much to a foster family to raise kids as it was the bio parents. Time for a change....and the truth hurts!!!
