On Christmas Eve I attempted to stop in at AutoZone to get some motor oil and a few stocking stuffer items. This "McFly" place was having some huge Christmas party and they had the ENTIRE parking lot crawling with partygoers - even the parking spaces marked "AutoZone Only". There was absolutely NO place to park if you wanted to run into AutoZone. The AutoZone manager told me they had called the cops three times already because the "McFly" people refused to tell people to leave the AutoZone parking spaces. I ended up parking illegally at the end of one of the traffic islands because there was absolutely no other option - even the side of the building was full. I was there for approximately 20 minutes. By the time I left, there was a line of about 10 cars on Federal Road attempting to get into the lot, and a line of cars snaking through the lot, which was by this time completely full. There was finally a "McFly" staff member attempting to direct the traffic into the back lot behind the building, but that was also completely full by this time.

I don't think "McFly" is going to be there for long, if this is the way they treat the AutoZone customers, particularly since AutoZone was there FIRST. Expect to hear a lot of ongoing problems with this parking situation and other things. I got the sincere impression that "McFly" didn't give a hoot about either AutoZone's parking OR their customers. I can tell you, based on this one little episode, I won't even bother checking "McFly" out. I don't like their attitude.

3 Things that made the night bad

#1 The drink my girlfriend ordered was not made right. They would not let her get a different drink, instead they watered it down and it was even worse.

#2 I asked for extra sauce, the waitress said it was $0.50. When the check came she charged us $1.00

#3 I ordered a coors light, but was charged for a corona. Which is more expensive.

I didn't bother to argue about it because we waited 1/2 for our check in the first place.

I'd be cautious if eating at Maggy's...Rosy Tomorrow's used to be our favorite restaurant, but after an incident when friends and I saw Ray tasting a salad (with his fingers)that was just prepared by the chef, we were grossed out. It was even worse when the waitress picked up the entire order and brought it to our table. Turned out the salad that he "taste tested" happened to be the one someone at our table ordered. I complained to the manager and he didn't see what the problem was. When I called the Health Dept., it turned out to be a very different story...I can't believe the guy is now an owner of a restaurant!!!

Visited last weekend .. Music way too Loud in Bar area, you have to scream to carry on conversation. Bar staff not the most attentive .. when you see an empty bottle/glass ..perhaps you should ask .. "would you like another" .. or prefer to die of thirst.

Ate there Saturday night. Great meal. Service was good. Prices were reasonable. I hope they succeed.

Maybe they were busy. Did you try sliding the empty glass away from you to the edge of the bar? That's the universal sign to any bartender that another drink is desired. Give it a try next time.

From the story:
"Coincidentally, in the movie series "Back to the Future," actress Lea Thompson plays a character named Maggie McFly. While this character is not connected to the restaurant in any way, "we were excited when the movie made a reference to our restaurant in it," Harper said."
The movie; 'Back To The Future', was made in 1985. These two slicksters opened their overpriced restaurant in 1993. So, they obviously took the character's name from the movie for their restaurant's name...not the other way around.
Nice lie.
This would have upset me as well. Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies ever! but I own a "Back to the Future" trilogy that makes a direct reference to that restaurant. I'll bet that Harper guy is talking about Back to the Future III. There is a feature that gives random on-screen text facts about the movie in the box set that I have. In the part where Marty's grandparents, Seamus and Maggie Mcfly, come into the old west scene there is a part that makes reference to Maggie McFly's being a restaurant in Middlebury, CT. This trilogy set was released in late 2002. I don't think he was saying that Back to the Future stole the name from the restaurant.

I LOVE Maggies (all 3 of them)!!!!
Service and quality of food is mucho better than the service and fast food one gets at the "unique eatery" in Danbury... Burgers are fresh, not coming out to the table 2 minutes after it is ordered. Can we say microwave?
Lets face it we know why this is being posted and why Gary was so gracious to Ray... It is not so much a secret as one like (oops) wishes it to be.

Really? You can see the food being prepared fresh. Open area which I am sure they'd invite to to watch a bit. I did with my kids the other day

Overdevelopment and no open space are the sign of falling home prices. Look for more dollar stores if you see this going on.
Where did this restaurant go up, exactly? Did they take over an existing *empty* space, or did they plow over the last remaining tree left in Brookfield on Route 7?
They took up empty space.

the service in the Southbury one is bad. Ive eaten there probably 6 times and it was never good service. The food is nothing special, same old. I've been to the bar a few more times. The drinks are overpriced and the bar is depresing. I prefer the Rathskeller. The owners are usually working and the staff is very friendly. It's a real pub and great food.
Who indicated Maggie's is a pub???? I guess you were not there or drunk when you arrive LOL
