"Solar customers "avoid charges, not just for energy, but also the costs of the transmission and distribution system. That's why we say it is not sustainable," Dan Skopec, vice president of regulatory affairs for San Diego's Sempra Energy, told Christopher Martin and Mark Chediak at the San Francisco Chronicle."

Nice one sided argument Skopec. Why don't YOU talk about Sempra's avoided costs? With enough solar PV systems installed on homes and businesses, Sempra gets a peak generation source when it is needed. Sempra doesn't have to start up a peaker plant or build a new peaker plant. No land purchases, right of way filings, EIRs or going to court to defend a project. Have you passed any of that along to the customers who don't have solar on their roofs? One fine day NRG Energy will come to your door and show you how sustainable it really is.

Solar energy will dry up and blow away. dust in the wind. It's a failed enterprise that will no longer be viable when the taxpayer subsidy goes away, and it won't be too much longer. Can you say , 20 Trillion national debt? And the debt itself is most CERTAINLY not, repeat not, sustainable. And can you say , economic collapse ? It blows my mind that there are so many people in this world that are so challenged when it comes down to simple math. Morons, the lot. the money NEVER lies. You just have to be able to comprehend the message. You can't borrow your way out of debt and you can't print money to get out of debt. Only a progressive is that stupid.

Yeah and Capital Controls are going into effect on July 1st. Perhaps for the first time in about 50 years, the U.S. dollar will not be the currency of choice for much of the worlds manufacturing and trade agreements. Solar energy has been with us for billions of years, DUH. The last 50 have brought the technology to capture and use the power available to the public at large.

Solar sucks. Nothing can compare with the energy output and consumer price of coal, oil, and nuclear. If the libs had an efficient and cheap energy source deriving from solar or wind, people would be falling over themselves to use it. The fact that they aren't, and instead are force fed "green energy" shows what a scam this failed movement is.

The ONLY scam here is YOU Peety Poo. How much solar experience have you had? Zero, right? The MOST efficient and cheap energy source is the sun, DUH. Now if there was just a way to use the sun to air condition and power one's home. www.bluepacificsolar.com

Then why aren't we ALL using it to power our homes and cars?

Because you're stupid and lazy? Perhaps YOU ask the wrong questions. Have NO experience to back up your lame claims.

I'll answer my own question because you can't. The answer is, it's not "efficient and cheap". If it were, everyone would be using it, and they're not. Those are the facts.

You have no "facts", just free and easy B.S. "If it were, everyone would be using it, and they're not." Women use tampons and pads, they're relatively efficient and cheap, DO YOU use those? You're a liar and a fool, to make such uninformed statements, repeatedly. Man up, take some responsibility for YOUR energy usage, install some solar PV and see "how efficient and cheap it really is."

Really?? You're comparing energy usage which everyone accesses, to monthly bleeding issue that are exclusive to women? That's pretty pathetic, even for you.

Do you have an answer as to why we're not all using your miracle energy source if it's so cheap and effective? Or is name calling your only retort?

Just pointing out YOUR idiocy Petey Pie. NOT an energy issue which "everyone" accesses. There are people who are off grid and have been for years. If YOU had any experience with Solar, you wouldn't have made such a stupid statement. The Answer YOU seek is right in the mirror there lightnin' bolt. Why are YOU so prejudiced against Solar that you can't even hook up a couple of panels and see what it can do for YOU? www.dsireusa.org

Again you refuse to answer my question. Is it because you're a fraud?

The answer A-hole is that Solar IS cost effective, because you deny it doesn't make it so. IF you actually had some experience with Solar, you wouldn't be saying such stupid things.

It's an endless source of amusement to watch how angry liberals like you get when someone dares challenge your foolish claims. You never address the points your critics make and instead resort to 2nd grade level name calling. Stay classy!!

First of all squid, you don't know what a liberal is, much less how to call it correctly. The foolish claims are all yours. YOU are the one who can't answer the question, How much experience do you have with solar? If some one disagrees with you, then they must be a liberal, right? If you're not using the technology, then "no one" is using the technology. Right back at ya second grader. Anything on solar? Didn't think so.

The initial cost to invest in solar panels can be hefty but eventually you can save a bundle on your electric bill.
