My mom always made a Danish Cookie at Christmas time. It was kinda a shortbread type with a mixture on top. I have long lost the recipe and since she always just called it a Danish Cookie I have never found another like it.
The bottom of the cookie was just a plain shortbread. The topping was a blended nut mixture that was brown in color and sticky poured over the shortbread and baked. I have to admit that to a child the blended nut mixture looked like vomit and was always our joke when making it. But it was so yummy.
Please help me, I want to make this and pass this Danish tradition on.
