Great news! Fairfax is such a fun lively place to hang out at night (and in the daytime!). But PLEASE..don't make this place vegetarian like the previous Sleeping Lady Cafe! A good burger and some fries, please and a nice grilled chicken breast sandwich would be great. There are plenty of veggie places for those who like that kind of food. If you are going to have music and a bar, you will really limit your clientele if you just serve vegetarian fare.

You want a good burger, fries, chicken sandwich in Fairfax, then walk 200 yards east to Iron Springs. They have great hippie-bluegrass music, but usually only on Wednesdays.

Maybe we have the meat eaters go out back and slaughter their dinners to be as well. A real experiential dinning treat!

I remember the original Sleeping Lady. Although I was too young to appreciate the full aspect of it all; I won't miss out on it this time. Tera is such a wonderful and kind person she will make this place special.

Sounds fair, as long as the vegans have to walk down to Watsonville to pick their vegetables for their dinner!

Always excited to try a new spot! I hope they have a solid menu and entertainment lineup. I would like to say, interesting name for an establishment... Sounds more like a spa, or hotel..

It makes me happy to see at least some folks still have a sense of humor. I hope you enjoy the new place as well, and have a nice Friday/weekend!:)

I have so many great memories of the Sleeping Lady Cafe. It was a great place to go and dance - you could be underage and still get in, just couldn't buy alcohol. Anyone remember that the donut store had it's back door just behind the back door of the sleeping lady? We used to buy hot donuts after dancing all night to the Tazmanian Devils...I wish that was still there for our kids.

Good luck to the new cafe...I've always like Cafe Amsterdam and will check it out. Hopefully the name will bring good karma to the new spot...Fairfax is still my favorite town in Marin. I hope to retire there on Mono Ave so I can walk to everything when I am an old lady...

I was a long-time Employee at the original Sleeping Lady Cafe till the day it closed.
There was alot of great memories in that funky lil' Place, and alot of GREAT Co-Workers too.

So I am actually sort of insulted that another place is planning on using the same name, without any input from the Former Co-owners.

Bill B. had $money$ tied-up in the place, and left us high and dry after He opened up the tofu shop across the street, so His opinions don't carry much weight with Me, or plenty of the Others that actually worked there.

What Tara should have done was to plan a reunion with the good Folks that worked there, and asked what Their opinion about re-opening/using OUR Name for Her bussiness.

Sounds like a trust-fund Kid, trying to take advantage of the all the work the original Co-Owners/Staff for Her personal gain.
Typical Marin thinking.

I won't spend a thin dime there.

Oh, vote for Me in november!

That is all,

The Commander.

Marin was different. People were different.
Todays Marinite is too uptight to enjoy anything
like the old Sleeping Lady. I'll give it a
Year, or two if one of the chicks has recently
divorced a rich Marinite from the 70's.

I'm excited about the Sleeping Lady opening up soon. I've only lived in FF for five years, but I'm really into the music and local culture. I wonder why the vegetarians can "sometimes" be so aggressive. It's FF after all, we live and let live, don't we? Let's enjoy the music. I also read in the article that the owners did ask for the previous owner of the SL for his blessing, and he gladly gave it, from what I read. See you there!

FYI, Bill was'nt the "Previous Owner", only a Partner in the bussiness. It was a Co-operative, so His blessings are irrelevant.
