We need to put a name on this faceless bureaucrat in the Health Department who forced Chloe Stirling to shut her cupcake business down. Every one needs to know this individual is so they can congratulate him when they see him for protecting the City of Troy from this "capitalist" who has the nerve to open her own business and succeed in her efforts.

"Amy Yeager, public information officer for the Health Department, said Chloe's business came to the attention of the agency when a woman who had hoped to make wedding cakes out of her home called and wondered, after seeing the newspaper story, if the rules had changed."

I own a cupcake shop in Southern IL. There were rules I had to follow before I could sell cupcake, namely, get a food handlers license and operate out of a commercially inspected kitchen. It's not corrupt, it's protection! Why should she be treated different than any other person who has the same dream?? Because she's 11?

Cupcakes are my passion and I work 60+ hours a week to run a successful shop - and I followed the rules each step of the way. SO SHOULD SHE!!!!

Selling cupcakes out of ones house means in accounting terms that she is entitled to expenses such as depreciation on the house that no doubt makes the endeavor a loss. As such she is not doing it for profit

Selling, not cooking for personal consumption, food has to have guidelines and inspections to ensure safety. I agree laws have gotten out of hand but food safety is important. Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree. I personally would not purchase said cupcakes from a strangers kitchen.

Doesn't this rule apply equally to bake sales? Those home-baked goods are sold in much the same way, and to fund raise for all sorts of organizations.

Geez ... Martha Stewart brags about how her business acumen started with a home-based business as a kid selling decorated birthday cakes for the neighborhood.

This whole story has gone viral worldwide over the internet. The real fools are now judged to be the people in your area that have allowed this to happen. We have more freedoms in our former Communist Block country than you apparently do there. Congratulations Americans on your selling your rights down the drain!

If you don't like the story then stay in Mascoutah, crack head. You are a drama queen and got your own children killed in Dupo.
You get a disability check each month but yet you still bash the government that takes care of you and used to care for the kids you had at one time. You got them killed but you still collect money off the government for those kids.
I'm gonna rat you out bytch!!
