I had the chicken at Big Daddy's before and it was raw as well. Don't know how they stay open unless the business is just a tax write-off. And the answer is yes- from what I've been told they do buy their meat from Wal-Mart so eat there at your own risk.

Locals don't eat there, we know better. Interstate travelers don't know any better.

Well now Don Wainwright has changed the name to Backwood BBQ making you think it's under new ownership when it is still the same old Wainwright clan. As Big Daddy's they had 43 health violations and unpaid taxes.

It's a shame it's a nice looking place, nice ambiance...but you're going to serve shit I don't know what they're expecting...I gave them a chance twice and both times the food was bland, flavorless, cheap quality...I wouldn't be surprised if they bought their meats at Walmart across the street...I hope they learn to do it right, I hate seeing people struggle.
when mr barney owned big daddys, i always saw him in walmart buying meat

To be fair, I used to frequent Ken's and thought it was really good but the last time I went there couple of years ago I got the worst poisoning I had to go to the hospital, and Ken's have had some health code violations according to City-Data.com ...and at Dixie Grille I ordered mac and cheese and got what was obvious Kraft macaroni and cheese 99cent box, even while ordering it the waitress knew and was saying "are you sure you want that?"...should've gotten the hint.
kens is nasty...i got food poisoning there too...went to the emergency room

We ate at the Ole Times (buffet) in Valdosta yesterday. No one in my family is overweight. We know what to eat and how much of it to eat. Clean buffet restaurants have been our preferred eating places for many years. The reason being we can build our own salads and see the food before putting it on our plates. Their Health Department score card is always displayed by the cash register where a person can see it upon entering - before ordering or paying. The score yesterday was 100%, which is usual for them.

Big Daddy's Is The BEST Thing to Happen in Live Oak, FL Since Wal-mart!!!!
The Food is so Delicious! The Service is Wonderful. Of Course They Will Have A Few Things To Work Out When They First Open, Well, Evidently - They Worked Them Out, Because The Best Place To Eat Within a Fifty Mile or More Radius is Big Daddy's. The Food - The Service - The Atmosphere - Couldn't Be Better!!!! Thank You (Wainrights) For Opening The Best Restaurant in The World!!!! Martha Rae

The buffet is a great place to lose weight or gain weight. The variety of healthy food there is as good as unhealty food. Please think before you speak or write anything. In Lake City Ole Times buffet has salads, low cal dressings, baked chicken, green beans, fresh squash, these foods are low carb.....
