Sometime this year, Samsung will release it's newest phone called the Instinct. It is very similar to the iPhone in form factor and the GUI. Yet Samsung did not have to ask permission from Apple to create this phone and Apple is not suing Samsung because of the clear similarities. Should Samsung have asked permission from Apple to manufacture and sell it's new phone? Check it out:

Samsung named its phone Instinct to compete with the iPhone. If the Samsung product had been called uPhone, then it would have been a problem, a verrry big problem.

We whole heartedly couldn't disagree with your position more, yet we respect your position for it is consistent unlike others we have argued with. It is nice to have a passionate, yet civil discussion. Good day, sir.

im opening up a MacRonald's in austin...mcdonald's did not invent the hamburger or mystery meat chicken nuggets...we will also carry chucos burgers, but not to worry, our 'chucos' does NOT refer to El Paso, has nothing to do with el paso, and refuse to be associated with that dirty town. We would also like to point out that the word is NOT related to the similar word derived from "pachuco", a fashion trend from the 40's and 50's originating in, you guessed it, el paso.(el 'chuco)

we will be located at the former 'chucos tacos building, overlooking shoal creek. yum.

By the way, if you think those tacos are crappy, you almost stand alone.

<quoted text> Exactly. El Paso isn't THAT big. But when relatives come in to town, that is the first place they want to go no matter what the time. Even people who don't call this their hometown love the tacos. I guess you could say that the tacos are more locally famous then nationally. Though, you will see how the word will spread. Just try it for yourself. However, try the real ones. Not the imitation.
I used to live in EPTX!!! I am one of the former El Pasoans that has personally eaten at Chico's and look forward to eating there when I come visit town.

The reason I see nothing wrong with Chuco's is b/c the people from this area who haven't step foot in EPTX don't have a clue what the big fuss is all about (and they don't care either) while the former El Pasoans (like me) appreciate the reminder of home. It's not the same, I'm not saying that it is, but hey we aren't about to drive 8 hours to get some Chico's, it's not THAT good. So in the meantime, in between visits to EPTX, we have a nearby alternative.

True. But thats no excuse for one company taking away the idea of another company without some sort of agreement. But I get what you are saying... and you have a point.

Guess if I still lived in El Paso, I'd probably side with Chico's.... but since I don't and I miss the food there (as well as other places in EPTX) then I selfishly (and greedily) take the side of Chuco's. LOL :)

In all honesty i never hear of chico's tacos but and dont think this should be a big deal. considering the is so many mexican resturants in texas playing of each other and their not hurting there sales or populary. This is probaly a gimmic to get free publicity from the new's so people in Austin would know who there are.

Can McDonalds also sue because other chains sell hamburgers similar to theirs?

Same crap. The tacos are the same if you believe it or not. And it is very possible to copy another food item. Why do you think this lawsuit is even in progress. Do you think they're idiots or what? Their lawyers know better.

Don't try it dude. My cousin got into trouble when he opened a Ruddfuckers. Some people are way too uptight.

i opened a MacRonald's with no problem...it was 100% original idea up to the smallest detail. I graduated from Hanks High and as you may already know we have the MOST ORIGINAL AND CREATIVE students in the city. Stay tuned for my new restaurant...WENDIES...it will also feature an original menu. My idea, down to the smallest detail.
