They ought to change SNAP to where you can only buy healthy foods. Not birthday cakes and doughnuts. They wouldn't have to cut SNAP then.
They ought to go back to when they gave you food off the back of a truck. Beggars can't be choosers.

<quoted text>If trickle down economics worked, this country should be swimming in jobs. Instead, it's being hoarded and sat on by the same people who prod and spew the class warfare they started 30 years ago.
Make it profitable for those who have it to spend it, and they will. simple as that, but no, some people think they should be punished for their hard work (and the opportunities they made for others while they were building it)... I don't blame them for hoarding it.

It's like if a large disaster disabled this country, but I thought ahead and stockpiled several months worth of supplies for my family and someone else thinking they are entitled to take it from me. Hell no!

Two problems:
A. Some people make a career out of gov support.
B. Companies not paying enough.
C. Taxes are too high on small businesses making it hard to pay a decent wage with all the operating expenses.
These problems need addressed one by one.
I'm of the mind that businesses shouldn't be taxed at all. Because you know every cent of tax comes out of the pocket of those who buy that company's goods or services. And many companies hire lawyers to figure out ways around some of the tax codes, this cost also is paid by the consumer... So with no tax, they'd have more money to play with.... more payroll maybe, or lower prices maybe...

Been through many rough times in my life, bills unpaid, hard time finding a job. There are good people getting assistance, but I think even more who are abusers of the system.
No, it's just that the abusers stand out more when they are caught, and some people think they are representative of the whole group. They're not. Just like one guy shooting up a mall makes some people think all gun owners are idiots... they're not.

Saw a sign on the fence at FedEx yesterday saying they are hiring (Route 104).

Giovanni's always has a "help wanted" sign and usually the laundry near CHS t.v. does too.

You must be mistaken. The food stamp leaches out there assert there aren't any jobs available. I'm sure they wouldn't say that if it wasn't true.

Most of them are not socially or confident enough to go out and tackle a full time job dealing with coworkers , bosses and customers.
Nor do they know how to apply for a job or how to dress when interviewing. Just a few pointers. Take a bath, wash your hair, brush your teeth and put on clean clothes. By clean clothes, I mean a dress shirt/blouse, nice pants and shoes. Not pajama pants, jeans or sweat pants. And cover up your tattoo's, an employer is not "impressed" by them even though they may be your most prized accomplishment.

My husband and I both had shit jobs in Chillicothe. We knew if we wanted anything we had to leave. We loaded both our cars and left. We lived in a hotel for 2 years until we both had great jobs and had saved enough money for a place. If you want it you will do it. If you want to wallow in misery that is all you will ever be, miserable. There are jobs all over Kentucky, Indiana, and other states but you have to WANT to work. Have more pride in yourself. Get off you mammas and the governments tit. If you surround yourself with people who expect nothing better then you are no better then them.

Very well put. I too had to pack up and leave my home and family to find better opportunities. There is an old saying that I've always quoted. "if you keep on doing what you've been doing, You'll keep on getting what you've been getting".

Why is it such a tragedy that foodstamps are getting cut but when the military paychecks were cut it was ok?. Try feeding your kids with NOTHING. Try being in a war zone and worrying about your family eating. Try going to a food bank a showing your military I.D. while your in line with other military families. Where were the government hand outs to those families? You bitch about the small cut in your junk food diet? Your rent is paid, your utilities were budgeted and your medical is paid. YOU will never be homeless because the government is paying you to be poor.

Even if they cut the program entirely, my guess is most of those fatties could live for several months on stored up calories. Give em water and move on.

Try looking up why so many families in the Military get food stamps. I do have family that are in the Military. Oh, by the way, that was before the War Mongers sequester.

Most likely because I have never been obligated to you and never will be, or anybody else. I'm just not hateful. Things happen to people that are out of their control. Don't be so hateful and greedy, things could happen to you at any time and leave you in the same boat. Then what would you say? It only takes a second to turn your life totally upside down.
