Cut all welfare, food, energy, housing. You will then have a bunch of hungry, desperate people, especially children. There aren't enough jobs to absorb it all. Your taxes will still be high, you will just sleep better at night knowing that some "welfare person" didn't eat shrimp tonight.
We will all sleep better when criminals like you meet the fate they deserve.

I read the article. family of four gets 668.00 dollars in food stamps. they get 36.00 less because of the cuts.

that leaves 632.00 in food stamps for the month or...316.00 every 2 weeks for groceries.

I cant remember the last time I spent that much money for groceries for my family of four.

and the lady in the paper said..we will get by somehow.

really...what the hell are they buying?

Sob story about your bologna and bread is baloney! Lol! I love when people make up tales of Welfare Woe. "I saw this woman in Louis Vuitton standing in front of me in line buying lobster at Walmart. She then got into her limousine and drove off." When Walmart doesn't sell lobster.
HaHa! Well it wasn't Walmart, it was Giant Eagle. You know fuel perks are just another way for me to save a little of my hard earned money. And I like bologna. Frying some tonight for a sandwich. I'd invite you over for one but I'm sure your trying for lobster and not fried bologna.

Simple google search you will find: Over the course of working 40 years, someone with a high school diploma will make $1,116,600 while someone with a bachelor’s degree will make $2,048,204. That’s nearly a million dollars more! Yeah why would you want to get a degree to make almost a million dollars more over your working life. I would rather work in a 100 degree temp. sweatshop and make less money. If you look at Edinboro probable half the cost of Gannon.
Great, if your job is government or teaching, because those "40" year jobs are like the tooth fairy, in your dreams.

Edinboro requires you to live on campus now, last I heard, and those dorms don't come cheap.

My property taxes and income taxes among other government increases go up more than 36 bucks a month. No big deal for the working person. It is only news when the freeloader who craps out kid after kid has to take a hit.

Wrong! You can live at home, take out student loans. If you are lower income you will get grants. Take a bus to Edinboro. Pack a lunch. Come back home on the bus. Work at McDonalds for income. Maybe you graduate in six years instead of four. You are a glass half empty kind of person. Anything someone says about working hard, being responsible for yourself, educating yourself, you will find something wrong about it. When you have nothing intelligent to say you start name calling. I will pray for you!

Bravo.
Never made sense to go to college to maybe get a decent job, just to spend a large part of your life paying off that huge debt. Why? Just to say I went to "Penn State", or the like? Big deal. I know plenty of smart graduates that can't find a decent job.[ and no, they do not live in Erie} Trade school, a good one, is a little bit cheaper, and probably a better bet.
I agree, how do you fail if you're rich? You don't spend your life struggling just to get downsized.
Everyone knows a degree does not equal success, just more debt.
A degree doesn't cause you to go into debt if you WORK your way through college. Oh, that's right...it's the whole idea of YOU WORKING that is the problem. You'd rather sit there and make up excuses as to why you are a failure and blame everyone else. There are many, many very wealthy people who never went to college. You will be as successful as you WORK at being...it's all up to YOU.

I don't attack the poor, I attack the lazy and irresponsible. Join the military, go to school, stop having babies out of wedlock, etc., etc. Instead of people crying into their computer, use the computer to relocate to an area of the country that is hiring. If Europeans can put their entire family on a boat and come to the USA to start a better life, I don't think it is that hard for someone from Erie to move to Texas.
No thanks, we don't want the slugs in Texas, either. Got more than enough of them here already. We should ship them all off-shore, isn't that where they keep saying their job went?

I actually moved to Texas from Erie, many years ago.

I second this, also. Couldnt have said it better. And, yes, 632.00 dollars per months is way more than reasonable for food these days. I work a full-time job, plus have a few side ventures, and Im sure I still dont spend that much on food for my family. Either way, those who are whining about a free 632.00, get less than zero sympathy from me.
