The woman who is suing Paula wants to lay around on her lazy butt for the rest of her miserable life at Deen;s expense. Guess what there are are a couple old white women on that jury that have a say in what she gets too. Wonder how they will rule?

can you clarify what that is supposed to mean and how that relates to anything I have said......seriously?
There are AA's who do NOT understand it and rally against the use of the word.... where are they coming from?

Yes. I know. The AA's come from all over. No place specifically. But, it's not for me to judge. The AA's who say it, I haven't walked in their shoes.

But, regardless people say that jeff Foxworthy says redneck and cracker....I've never watched him so I don't know. so, AA's calling themselves the "N" word in comparison to Deen saying it is really not a valid argument anyway no matter what angle one sees it from.

Ya better check the roasting time for this old bird...she's over cooked, dried out, and the gravy is cold! Nothing was extraordinary about your receipes or your cheap imported kitchenwares...your fans loved the charming image. If Food Network kept the show it would need to be rebranded to "Confederate Cooking with the Stars...Special guests David Duke...George Wallace...and your Plantation hostess Paula Deen preparing receipes stolen from her ancestors slaves."

She had it coming to her. Never felt comfortable with her thick southern accent and fake enthusiasm. This women was an old hillbilly from Georgia that probably has a confederate flag bumper sticker and a gun rack in her slave catching truck! The women suing her probably just found out about the emancipation proclaimation a few months ago, so rather than run away she just got a lawyer!

Ya'all just don't understand. I just is what I is. My mama always taught me to just add more butter, salt, and lard to make it all better. Why can't we just go back to the good ol'days when we had our own water fountains, restrooms, and Southern Hospitality.

Ms Deen was wrong to use any racial slurs around her employees out in public even though her restaurant. And she's is paying the price for the use of those words being sued for over a million dollars.
Let the public decide with her shows and endorsements what should be done with her. Let her speak to see the real her. Let anyone speak to show us their true selves or opinions.
We don't need word police. If you don't like it ignore it and move along. If it happens on the job where professional and discrete behavior is expected sue them. But if somebody uses a word or admits to using a politically incorrect word well boo hoo if you don't like it. If a politically incorrect vocabulary is against your contract or work rules then don't use it.
Everyone should speak their mind. Everyone should have the oppurtunity to know what someones' real opinion or style is. Free speech is like no wrapping paper on the box, everyone needs to see what it really is.
Did she use racial slurs in public? I haven't been following the whole thing. If she did then that's a serious problem. But whatever she said to her husband 30 years ago is nobody's damn business. We don't need no damn thought police!

But really a lot of you aholes trying to keep the race card afloat as it is the only thing you have going right now. Paula Deen used the N word 30 years ago, who effing cares? The self called Steve Jobs and Michael Jordan of music uses it every other word. So sick of the hypocrisy in this country. You all scream about equality and then jump on something that is Politically Incorrect that happened 20 effing years ago that people of the same race still spout today... Give me a break. Get over the minority/majority thing in race, that's the only way that it will ever be put to rest so that things truly can be equal!

Her image is tarished and at best she is now perceived as an ignorant old woman. Time to just shut up and go away Paula.

Apparently she did use racial slurs in public/in her restaurant around employees because all this started from a million dollar lawsuit filed by one of those employees. During testimony is when she admitted to previous/older use of these words.

You hear alot of profanity in the workplace and if you believe these cooking shows ie Gordon Ramsey etc then the restaurant industry might very well be riddled with hot head profanity using management. But a women with alot to lose like Ms Deen should be going out of her way to maintain a pc image. She's paying the price already in dollars and reputation so why the bludgeoning.

Hypocrisy? You do understand the meaning of that word?

When AA's use the word, that's between them. You haven't walked in their shoes. Right or wrong, you have not say in why or how that word is used among the AA's. You do not ask them, you do not run with their crowd, you do not have any AA friends. In short, you don't know. That's like telling jeff Foxworthy to stop saying redneck and cracker. the argument regardless from any angle is too weak obviously.

"getting over the majority/minority thing in race" can basically be construed as sit down and shut up and take it or else. Most people do not discipline their children like that so why would they do that to anyone else. That's not very democratic and that is not giving another equal opportunity to voice their right to free speech. You guys don't really like equality in free speech. You talk over the other person, interrupt, change the focus, ask questions yet don't answer questions, you basically do not fairly engage in a civilised equal conversation.

Equal? didn't you say that people who believe in democratic equality for America belong in an insane asylum? Didn't you say that life was not meant to be equal. That no matter what people will never be equal. And, I responded to you saying that it's not about being equal or even desiring to. it's about having equal opportunities.

below is more accurate news regarding when and where and how many times she has stated the "n" word.

I don't think people are bludgeoning Deen. They usually state one or two comments and move along until some radical person takes offence to those comments, thus, begins to abuse the commenter personally for having an opinion. In my case, I simply stated that she should be found guilty while, in addition, as part of her civil suit volunteer in some of the most controversial AA places in America with families (good families) trying to survive what life throws at them. That way she would be educated first hand ...and not just through a simple fine, or a book, or other readings.

Well, you should have read the comments just to that post. Posters twisting my words .....calling me names.....associating me with all kinds of radical ideologies and politics. Posters never ASKED they just told me what I was, what I thought, and what I felt.
Now, that's bludgeoning!

Paula Deen has a right to say whatever she'd like as long as she's not breaking any law. It's time to move on and forgive her. She wasn't the first to utter the "N" word, and I'm sure she won't be the last.

she did break eeoc laws. and, yes she is not the first, others have been fired for the same reasons. so, we all know if Americans take hate and discrimination seriously and respect their fellow Americans regardless of agreement then that = freedom for them as well. or, there a repercussions for breaking civil laws. Those laws are there for a purpose because they can easily turn into criminal offences and have. The laws are there because people were not smart enough to police themselves while living in a free country. They mocked freedom basically. so, laws are better than doing nothing about it. And, i'm sure that is why many racist white people dislike government. because , that same government forces them to behave human up to a point. and, it protects others against racism. Now, if racist white people didn't care to commit a racist act against their fellow Americans, then it wouldn't bother them to have laws that protect victims of racism. And, they could use that same law for THeir protection as well. So, no government and less government to racist white people means basically cowboy and "indian" days and complete anarchy. That is not freedom in a civised, diverse, industialised country.

we all know this but it needs to be stated.

when and which post did I say that?

if you really wanted to be civil, you would ASK what I meant instead- especially BEFORE judging which is the modus operandi of a racist person......OFFENSIVELY DEFENSIVE!

so do you want to fight? or, do you really want change in this country to benefit everyone...not just one race?

grow up!

when you've grown up, then we can have a productive discussion.
