Workers at McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's restaurants across New York walked out Monday in a one-day strike to demand better pay and the right to unionize, calling for minimum wage to more than double from $7.25 to $15 an hour and the end to what activists called "abusive labor practices."

ALL you mentions came from Chinese man way before European "inventions " LOL
Thanks for your apt demonstration of your abject ignorance and lack of education. We can see why you are working at McD's, and you are a prime example that not all individuals are even worth the current minimum wage.

Cars
In 1885, German mechanical engineer, Karl Benz designed and built the world's first practical automobile
to be powered by an internal-combustion engine.

Spaceflight
The first realistic proposal of spaceflight goes back to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. His most famous work,
"Ис сл&#10 77;до& #1074;ан ие ми&#10 88;ов& #1099;х пр&#10 86;ст& #1088;ан ст&#10 74; ре&#10 72;кт& #1080;вн ым&#10 80; пр&#10 80;бо& #1088;ам и" (Issledovanie mirovikh prostranstv reaktivnimi
priborami, or The Exploration of Cosmic Space by Means of Reaction Devices), was published in 1903, but this theoretical work was not widely influential outside of Russia.

Spaceflight became an engineering possibility with the work of Robert H. Goddard's publication in 1919 of his paper "A Method of Reaching Extreme Altitudes".

Medicine
the oldest existing evidence of a very extraordinary practice, that of trephining. Neolithic skulls with disks of bone removed have been found in nearly all parts of the world. Many careful studies have been made of this procedure, particularly by the great anatomist and surgeon, Paul Broca, and M. Lucas-Championnière has covered the subject in a monograph.2 Broca suggests that the trephining was done by scratching or scraping,
but, as Lucas-Championnière holds, it was also done by a series of perforations made in a circle with flint instruments, and a round piece of skull in this way removed; traces of these drill-holes have been found.
The operation was done for epilepsy, infantile convulsions, headache, and various cerebral diseases believed to be caused by confined demons, to whom the hole gave a ready method of escape.

Edison worked mostly alone with an assistant or two.
Jobs and Gates worked in their garage.
Same with the Wright brothers.
Exactly which entrepreneurs are you referring to?
The statement was in fact a broad generalization - however, since you require simplistic answers, Job's and Gates made their inventions with little labor, due to the fact their products were prototypes, but when the market dictated they in fact had a product that was marketable, this grew - and the need for labor to produce these products were required / or did you still think they built all their computer hardware and software in the basements?

Stop looking for silly arguments, thus making you look more simple and unworthy of a retort.

Yeah, but your from Texas. It's kind of a strange place. The state has more uninsured people than any other state, but Rick Perry still rejects federal Medicaid funding under ACA. Hopefully Wendy Davis will change the state
Sorry to disappoint you but the majority of our populace believe in hard work and businesses that supply jobs for the citizens who want to get ahead through education and hard work. Work for students, work for everybody that is LEGALLY HERE. Our patriotic citizens don't believe in living our lives supported BY GOVERNMENT. We believe in succeeding through inspiration, hard work and higher education. NO GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS EXCEPT FOR OUR OWN CITIZENS going through hard times and in these last 5 years WE ARE HAVING OUR SHARE OF LACKING THE JOBS MANY OF OUR CITIZENS HAVE LOST THROUGH THE PRESENT REGIME running the white house. Government handouts and support ONLY KEEP THE PEOPLE DEPENDENT ON EVERYTHING FROM BASIC DAILY NECESSITIES TO MEDICAL TREATMENT and even when you rise and when you sleep (when to turn off you lights), which in turn deteriorates people minds remaining stupid and unable to make their own decisions because THEY CAN'T MAKE ANY DECISIONS OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL, GET IT? and this is how this regime wants the people.....STUPID, DUMB & AFRAID to take steps to using their own brain to survive.

Lets address this one by one:
I could care less about your financial situation in life, however your words are not consistent with you apparent position in regards to unskilled labor. So one has to wonder. But you claim what you like.
There is a reason that the middle class is eroding and that is because the unions were quite successful in increasing the price of labor to the point that it was prohibitive to business. I know that all the bottom of the ladder geniuses believe that companies
can do with a little less profit, but that's not for you or the government to determine.
With little industry to employ the unskilled and the unskilled to unmotivated to attempt to improve their marketable skills, move to where the work actually is and other unproductive behaviors we are left with a section of the population that now believes due
to the liberals (socialists) in this country that they deserve what they are too lazy or unmotivated to earn.
There is nothing wrong with manual labor and many in this country are quite successful performing manual labor positions in this country. Many of us started in a manual position when we were young and learning what is needed to succeed in life. This however does not mean that unskilled labor is worth the same as skilled labor.
If a person is working but collecting food stamps or welfare of any kind then they do indeed have their hands out to the tax payers in this country. And before you attempt to make the case
that they pay taxes too, they do not in most cases pay any federal income taxes (many receive more back at tax time than they paid), which is what funds these programs. So yeah they have their hands out.
All jobs are not worth the current minimum wage .... just as not all individuals are worth minimum wage.
However due to government mandate min wage is the least that we can pay those with no skills to contribute to the business. If your skills go no further than the broom and toilet brush, then you should be grateful for what you get. Demands for more only demonstrates the ingratitude to those who employ these people and it will come as a surprise to them as it has to those in the past when their jobs are replaced by automation, because of the unreasonable cost to business that they create. Then they will wish they still had that minimum wage job that they took for granted.
Trying to have a reasonable exchange of ideas with you is obviously unrealistic. The custodians, who keep the school systems bathrooms clean, are unworthy of being paid a living wage? They supply a needed service, but you denigrate the labor even the men and women who perform these services.

Since you obviously never owned a business, and I have, you simply do not understand the concept of investing in your employees, acknowledgement of their tasks, even if their tasks are serving of cleaning or other forms of labor you feel are unworthy of performing.

The minimum wage was imposed because of people JUST LIKE YOU - that feel they can pay a hard working person shit because you DEEMED their labor unworthy, thus making factory and business owners extremely unfair, taking advantage of workers, but those who think like you are a dying breed.

Now, don't reply - just FO. You're unworthy of my time.

And a waste of bandwidth.

Childish rants from the supposed business owner. Gee I'm hurt, HAHAHAHA. Please call me some more names and use some more vulgarity to make your point. It helps bolster you claims of being a business owner. I'm sure these tirades serve you well in business. LOL

Only to those standing at the bottom of the ladder with no motivation or ambition to change their position. Envy instead of emulation is your problem Joe. But it appears that your limited intellect will not take you that far. Sad
