What in God's name is the matter with these people?

This is ANIMAL ABUSE, impure and simple. How long before a kid gets a pig's hoof in the eye? The animals are all highly-stressed and terrified. Many will be dragged, stepped on, injured, crippled and/or man-handled.

Any parents who would allow/force their kid to take part in this abuse should be cited for both animal cruelty and child endangerment. What a terrible message to send to impressionable young children (not to mention insensitive adults) about the proper treatment of animals.

Where's the local religious community on this issue? Animal Control? The SPCA? School teachers? Anyone with a conscience?

Lots of sick folks in Colorado. First the Marijuana fiascos and now, even worse this treatment of animals, surely another poor lesson for the kids.
