The other day I wrote about the latest disturbing urban development in Istanbul, the bulldozing of centuries-old vegetable gardens alongside the city's historic Byzantine-era walls.

And what about the people which lived long time before the Greeks?
Never understood why many people stop with the Greeks when they go back in history ....although everybody knows (according to Western historians) that the Greeks colonized the region ...
thus they were not native to the region ....
which again means there lived other ethnic groups prior to them ....
who unfortunately either were forcibly "assimilated" or ethnic cleansed (as it was typical when Greeks conquered new lands, btw. the same valid for the old Armenians too)....
