Oklahomas should realize 5 big macs and a diet coke does not constitute a diet. I only get one big mac and medium fries with a diet drink and am a mere 150
just curious

I was over at St Johs Hospital and I dident see any nurses that were not at least 200 pounds over weight. I worked at a facility and they weighed you every year and if your over weight they sent you home until your weight was at proper weight for height.
i believe that would have given me the incentive to look for employment elsewhere and before anyone thinks i couln't pass the weight test i'm only thirty pounds over my top expected weight

Many people don't fit into the gov't standards. Some people are just big and solid like your mom, some are big boned and that makes a difference. There are too many variables for one gov't guideline to work. I think the insurance companies are to blame. They want things to be as strict as possible so they can deny coverage for people. My mom worked in the medical field for 30 years and has seen them dropping the numbers in the guidelines for years. They decide that the numbers for glucose levels that have been fine for years are all of the sudden too high, so anyone who was ok to cover before is now left out. Same thing with blood pressure and weights. It's the bottom line for insurance companies and the more people they can weed out or put pre-existing conditions on, the better they like it.

since when is:
orange drink = orange juice
grape drink = grape juice
soda = water
french fries/potato chips = vegetables
jello pudding = dairy
processed breaded chicken-parts cutlets= lean meat
froot loops-whole grain

its all about education...
i go to a website called calorieking.com to check the calories on fast food...

i had a McDonalds McFlurry(fake ice cream with fake M&M's)the other day coz i was just driving by and it is 620 calories...that means that my booty has to stay on the elliptical for 1.5 extra hours just to burn off the calories from that McFlurry...that is 1/3 of my daily intake in calories and they are bad calories...when you exercise you stay more aware of what you eat because it takes longer to burn off the empty calories.

its all about awareness...are you really aware of the meals you are preparing for your family or the amount of fast food your family is ingesting?? AND the biggest- how much exercise your family members are getting per week??

exercise is free...i take two unopened one-gallon bottles of water outside and lift them to keep the strength in my upper torso and legs...

Excuses are like noses-everybody has one...what happened to calisthenics in gym classes...i went to one of my kids gym classes and they were all sitting on the bleachers talking and texting and weren't even dressed out for gym class...and they wonder why Oklahoma has an obesity problem...

I know that since my daughter started junior high she grew faster last year than I had ever seen her grow. When I started monitoring what she was getting I saw that she had gatorade every day and icecream, both, everyday. I of course put a stop to it and have to continue monitoring it which you can do now through meal pay plus on line. They need to just take this stuff out of schools all together becasue not all parents will monitor what children eat at school as I have. And put daily gym back in school as a requirement and stop askiing stupid questions like "why are today's children so obese"?

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Aries

There is minor evil around today, whether it is harsh words or actions. Relationships with non spiritual people will tend to be abrasive, as you come to understand that such people can never be trusted, for their agenda is not love. Beware of criticism from colleagues or friends. Avoid being narrow minded and confining your views to the conventional. You may want to argue with everyone and everything, but beware of devouring your own energy in the process.
