sure...why not? after all, it did absolutely nothing to curb the consumption of fast food, why not waste a little more money and enact a few more burdensome regulations if it makes the limousine liberals feel better about themselves...after all, THAT is "the liberal way".

What they really need is a scale attached to every vending machine, if you're too fat you get nothing, and it keeps your money.

Posting calorie information on vending machines won't make people any smarter, but it will help smarter people to make better informed decisions. You can lead a horse to water, but [well, you know].

if you're standing in front of a vending machine where you pay double for items in a store you are probably hungry and could care less about the calories. stoopid sheep controlling commie liberals think everyone thinks like they do.

Re "stooped sheep": I love irony, especially when it's self-inflicted. QED

By the way, speak for yourself. Some of us maintain good judgment and self-control, even when we're hungry.

More unnecessary intrusion by the government upon free enterprise.

The calories are ALREADY ON the junk food packages.

Unless someone is buying a snack for the VERY FIRST TIME, they ALREADY know the calorie information if they bothered to read the package of their favorite snack!!

By the same logic, everyone knows that guns can be used to kill people. So why should government intrude to make it illegal to sell guns and ammo in vending machines? Proceeds from arms vending machines strategically placed in public schools could help pay promote privatization of those schools to the benefit of corporate America while also supporting NRA values and second amendment rights.

Putting the calorie count on junk food is NOT the same as selling guns and ammo from a vending machine.

Putting a WARNING label on guns and ammo would be a fair comparison to posting junk food calorie count.

Calorie counts are ALREADY on junk food packaging, so mandating vendors to additionally post the calories is redundant.

Are you suggesting that guns and ammo need to have labels? Do you think the labels on guns and ammo help people make better decisions about using them?

<very unlikely>
