If only the protesters at the Chicago demonstrations would carry signs IN ENGLISH (instead of Spanish), it might not be so obvious WHY there is an over-abundance of low skilled workers.

Our government has allowed TOO MANY people to cross our borders, reproduce and flood the minimum wage market.

Wages would automatically RISE, if there weren't so many people competing for the same low skilled jobs.

Low skilled...like in red states? Where they keep employees pinned down with their low wages? hahahahahahahaha

Go check out the self check-out lines at Wal-Mart.

That's what an increased minimum wage will cause.

So are you saying Americans are overlooked for fast food positions? Are lots of American citizens applying for these jobs and they refuse to work for the current minimum wage?

Do you think that maybe the reason why illegals are taking these jobs is because maybe American Citizens are not applying for them in great numbers?

If we sent all illegals home right now, it would be interesting. A lot of folks would freak out over the cost of everything.

I am all for it, let's send 'em all back and let's see if companies really will pay a living wage in lieu of excessive profits for the shareholders. Think that will happen?

Are you ready to pay $10 for a pint of berries?

How about meat? Ever think about who is slaughtering the animals you eat? Nobody you know I bet and these illegals do it for very little money and at a danger to themselves because meat packing facilities are very dangerous with a high incidence of accidents. And do you think they get any compensation as an illegal for injury, nope!

Sit back and judge and complain while you stuff your face with cheap food. In the meantime, send your teenagers to work in the hot fields this summer. Let's see how well they do and without complaining.

Illegal immigration is not a problem caused by illegals or the government, it is a problem caused by greed. Americans want everything as cheap as possible, and they got it and then complained more.

Hopefully ALL of the employees of fast food corporations are LEGAL.

If there weren't enough people to flip burgers and ask if you want fries with that order, corporations would HAVE to pay their people more money.

Unfortunately, there are WAY too many low skilled people. Where did they all come from and why can't they do any better than flipping burgers?

Go back to your spinning class. Seems you are stuck in one gear and going nowhere.

Have you been to a hotel recently? The person cleaning your room is probably not legal. They work very long hours under difficult conditions. They really could use a tip to help them out. Do you ever do that, tip your maid for service everyday? Trust me, she is not earning enough to get by. Transportation back and forth alone is a struggle.

They work these jobs it because where they come from is worse. Try getting the average American teenager to take that job, probably not going to happen. Teenagers are not working much it seems. And if an American teenager did take that job, he or she will most likely be a rude and impudent little twerp and tick off a lot of customers.

So there you have it, unfortunately some jobs are menial and pay low wages. Used to be that young folks worked those jobs as a way to pay for school and then they moved on for the next kid to take it. Every generation gets a little too cool to do what a past generation had to for survival.

Sorry, I've neither been to a hotel lately NOR do I eat at fast food joints.

Nor would I go to a spinning class.

So why is it that some kids still work menial low wage jobs, go to community college and move onto something better? While other people think menial low wage jobs are a lifetime CAREER CHOICE?

Contrary to what you believe, there are still well motivated teens who make good choices, who are not, as you say, "rude and impudent little twerp and tick off a lot of customers."

Maybe it has a lot to do with UPBRINGING. Having at least one good parent who teaches respect and responsibility, like not popping out children without the means to support them.

Perhaps the ABUNDANCE of low skilled people has a lot to do with the deterioration of our society and lack of effort towards excellence.

So judging by your off topic spam, you support fast food workers making $15 an hr minimum? Or did you just ignore the article and just post your usual partisan garbage (like a troll)?

Proof that having a career plan that DOESN'T include staying in a low skill job is a GOOD thing.

The union involved in this is another political arm of the Marxist Democrats, displaying what seems the eternal racism of the Democrat Party. Such insane actions take jobs away from Blacks in cities like Chicago, where Democrats are currently pushing jobs for illegal aliens and leaving young Blacks on the street corners. Pitting minorities against minorities is an age old gambit of the Democrats and it has gotten worse since the Marxists took over the Party in the 1970s.

Here's my solution. Pay fast food workers more money. Charge customers the same prices, but cut back on the portions. That way, workers could have better lives, and customers could have longer lives.
