I hope they have new owners because the Willie Rivera Restaurant was terrible, horrible food.

The place opened weeks ago, and patch is just getting around to this. Shows you what they know, which is that they can't wait to get fired so they can beat off in moms basement and collect unemployment.

The adds are making it out to be a club with the hottest DJ's from Chicago! I doubt the restaurant is going to be a factor.

I have a feeling that the restaurant was just a ploy to open a nightclub that closes at 3:00 AM. The dishonesty around here is very insulting. They have no food yet and I don't think there will be food except for stale popcorn.
Why didn't Dotson just say, " Folks, we have two new bars opening up at 159th and Laramie and they will be open til 3 AM."
Was this presented to the alderman and mayor as 2 bars open til 3, or was this presented as a Mongolian eatery and a teeny bopper club.

Well liquor licenses had to be approved with hour restrictions. 2 am license, 3 am license. Etc.???

Why don't you ask Dotson, and alderman or the Mayor? Seems a little silly to ask the question here unless you really don't want an answer.

Once again I can't believe what is posted on here. The teen club and restaurant are two different entities(not even the same owners) a block apart on different sides of the street. The restaurant not having food is a bald faced lie which makes you either stupid or a bald faced liar. There is no booze license for the teen club an one was never requested. I have to assume that with your lack of knowledge, you don't even live around here.

So the food was good? What type of Cuisine?

As far as the Teen Club, being open to 3AM, even if you are open that long for older than teenies, those 20+ folks are not going to Oxygen for the Soda Pop and Chips!! This business is a strange fit for Oak Forest.

Why would the teen club want to be open till 3 am ? If they don't have a liquor LIcense and don't want one.....Then they won't be bringing in enough money to pay the electric bill.

Someone explain to me what 20 + year olds are going to hang there? What are they doing there??

Just because they currently do not have a license doesn't mean they will never request one... Unless you are the owner of the club, you really don't know the answer to that question.

I do know this much, as long as it is advertised as a teen club by law they cannot have a liquor license. If they request a license and meet all requirements, why not give it to them? better than another vacant building.

You are missing my point. Also, I understand that the businesses are owned by different people. The point is that I think both businesses are playing games and manipulating officials to gain the almighty liquor license.
As far as Mongolian, they will abandon the restaurant now that they have the license and they will only be a night club. I already know many people who went there and the restaurant was closed. Why is that?? Were they open for one day? The bar wasn't closed though.
As far as the Oxygen. All I could say is wow. I promise the owner soon will go to city hall saying his teen club was a failure and he will request to have a liquor license. That was the plan from the start.
I can't believe your simple mind has been manipulated with these dishonest ploys. You should run for office. You would fit in.

You have no idea what you talk about. You sound like an anti business socialist. Please give us some concrete facts to back up your charges. You are also a liar, the restautant is not closed.
What do you find so distastful about a liqur license? If the teen club would have come in as a bar, they would have ben granted a license, if they met all the requirements. That place has been a bar forever. Why all the conspiracy?
