Barbour county fair has way better entertainment. Not til August, but why go to the strawberry festival and give them what they want. I'm not going to give them money. They have made it clear they don't want smokers there. So smokers don't go to the festival and give them their fines. That's what they want. Save your money take your kids to a fair or festival that's worth the money.
But why

Very witty, just think of the zingers you could've pulled off had you gone beyond sixth grade. wow. Since you have no ability to advance your position with sound arguments, resort to name calling- borish immaturity. And rest assured, City ordinances apply everywhere within the City, there's no opting out by being on state or federal property. Go ahead and try it.
I am quite witty...thank you. Unfortunately the $50,000 I spent for college did not make me witty enough to deal with ignoramuses (look it up) like you. Truth of the matter is; I will continue to smoke where and when I please. There is no need to "advance" my position since I know where and when I can smoke. So as long as you keep "advancing" your tiny and penile opinions with stupidity, I will continue to look upon you as the small and narrow minded peon you are. I have a small suspicion (not unlike your ding-a-ling) you are a member of said local government fascists trying to make Buckhannon a "better place". Good luck with that. The people may not be as dumb as you give them credit for. Have a nice day!

Two references to male genitalia in one post, did they teach you how to do that at Fairmont State, or is that just a natural freudian obsession? What a kumquat.

May 15-19, but the weekend prior to this are some festivities, too, such as the horse and carriage parade I believe. I just looked the dates up this past weekend to let family know the dates.

The festival had NOTHING to do with the smoker ban. The city council is the one that came up with that, not the festival board.

Did the festival board show up to fight against this at any meeting? Or did they Judy roll over and bite down on the nearest pillow?

Maybe if no one supports the festival it would send a message to the city council to do away with making smoking outside illegal.

Well I think I'll drive 90 on Main Street flashing people as I go by since I've learned the City has no ability to enforce laws on State owned property. Woohoo!
Main St. is not Rt. 20 though. It's just a county road.

the festival had nothing to do with the ban. Talk to the city. As a non-smoker,I can see both sides of the argument.
But I think the city went a bit far with this one.

Better to boycott the festival than talk to morons.

Main Street is a federal highway. It was formerly U.S. Route 33 primary.

Formerly is the key word. It's now County Route 12 and County Route 151.

"County routes" in West Virginia are actually just State Secondary routes, since they're still maintained by DOH anyway.
