What amazes me is how people can make huge leaps of inaccurate and false reasoning, as is your impression of the area. If this is an example of your ability to support your argument I don't think you are even qualified for a job there so don't get your panties so twisted. Like the Supervisor said, he hasn't seen shit from these people (but there will be a lot of it if they build the plant). I don't know any more than what was in the paper about the recent meeting but why didn't they show up with answers to the Town Board's concerns. They already showed that they were against it. It sounds like they just showed up to find out what the application process was. Why weren't they more forthcoming when they knew there were concerns or are these guys full of BS.(There'll be a lot of that also).<quoted text>
A multimillion piece of vacant land which will remain vacant for generations... How many people are in line or have even expressed an interest to develop the property. It is amazing how the people of central NY are against anything and everything which wants to move here. I guess the area just want to remain poor and the people would prefer to live off of welfare...
Now I guess they know they have to go through the Town Board for the permit process. So let's see what they have to say about this plant, how it operates, and it's affect on the surrounding community and business development at the park. There needs to be a lot more information because I believe the Board took the proper approach by rejecting it until they have the information they need to make an informed decision. As apposed to you who just wants to allow it to get a few more unskilled labor jobs. No, it's not just about jobs. It's about quality of life.
If this meat processing facility has any possibility at all of negatively affecting the community and future development at the site then it should be turned down and the Herkimer IDA should be scrambling (right now) to find a proper place for it within the county. Otherwise the County should defund this agency and save the taxpayers the money being wasted.
