Great move on the part of the cruise line. Smokers are being tolerated less and less. I look forward to the day when the cruise companies recognize that smokers are less educated and make less money than non smokers and should therefore not be allowed to smoke at all on the ship. If you cannot go a few days without a smoke, then you should spend your money getting help for your addiction rather than going on a cruise.

Why not throw all the drunks overboard while you're at it. I will be smoking like a chimney on my NCL cruise in December and I will gladly pay my $250.00 fine. I can't wait to annoy those with balconies next to mine. I will get my money's worth so be prepared!

If you read your contract closely, you will see that in addition to fining you they can put you off the ship at one of their ports of call, In addition, they also have the option of having you arrested at one of their ports of call. So, your smug attitude may cost you $250, the majority of your trip with no refund, and the cost of a last minute airline ticket from one of your ports of call. All in all, makes me giddy just thinking about it. Enjoy your trip on NCL.
