Woman turns kitchen prowess into thriving business
Virginia Olson has no plans to roll into retirement anytime soon. Olson, 84, makes approximately 100 apple pies a month in her West Des Moines kitchen for her son's business clients, family members, friends and longtime customers.

Is it legal for her to do this in her kitchen? Does the health department inspect her kitchen? Nice story, but it does bring up some questions.

Good points! I have seen homes with a second kitchen to be used when preparing foods for the public that are permitted by public health. Bet she makes good pies!
