i think its fine, i call my sister butch all the time, no biggie, only people who are uncomfortable wont see it that way, but who cares what anyone else thinks, its all about what works for you and your kid.

It depends on whom you are speaking with and why you want to reveal this information. Not everyone is accepting of homosexuality and some people do have strong religious views on the matter. On the other hand, there are people like me who don't care. It's common sense.

Ultimately, it is not yours to tell. As a parent, it is your position to love. I would hope that you can also be supportive, and maybe you are. In the event that it is an issue you struggle with, he is still your son to love, and this is an area you will have to find a way to come to some sort of peace with. In all honesty, it is only your son's business. Until he gives you permission to share that information, it should remain in his control. Unfortunately, even with good intentions, the ramifications of outing someone can be hazardous, if not deadly. Most could careless, and most probably already know...but there are still some people who are highly intolerant.
