32 new restaurants? In Mpls-St.Paul alone? But ... I thought the economy was supposed to be so bad?

Yeah, IN-N-OUT would be worth the drive. Their French fries should be declared a controlled substance. And don't even get me started about Tommy's-- you'd need a back brace to hoist it up off your plate. (Hey, if you're gonna take the Mother Road to the ER, you may as well do it in style...)

Sonic is coming. The first one will be in Savage. Of course, the city is causing problems with the location (former greenhouse store on Co. Rd. 42).

Looks like Taco Bell's dominance in the Twin Cities is most likely over after this move.
That works for me.

It's about time! Now all we need is get El Pollo Loco and IN-N-OUT burger up here!
In-N-Out definitely! Fatburger would be another good one. I'm surprised they haven't opened one up at the MOA.

I miss Burger Chef. Top that!
Agreed. I read recently that Hardees is being sued by the Burger Chef trademark holders for using "Big Shef" along with the Burger Chef name and logo for one of their burgers. They claim the trademark was abandonded. Hardees is evidentially afraid of a Burger Chef restaurant revival. I wonder if the building for the one that was by Apache Plaza is still there.

Anyone remember Red Barn?

Have a Double-Double, 3x3 or a 4x2 and a Vanilla shake with those fries and forget about the ER, you'll never make it! These guys make McDonald's taste like horsemeat.

I made my first trips to In-N-Out and Jack in the Box when I was out in Cali recently. I didn't think In-N-Out was anything special, but I would LOVE a Jack in the Box here. I've never eaten at Del Taco, but if it gives me an option to Taco John's or Taco Bell, I'll be satisfied.

Also, I think we have a Sonic coming to MN some time soon.

Being a CA transplant too I'll tell ya, if you're in CA you need to try IN-N-OUT and if you like healthy (not deep fried) grilled marinated chicken then El Pollo Loco is your ticket. Kicks ass all over KFC, Pioneer (they still around?) Popeye's (although after a night of drinking this one is pretty damn good!) BTW...IN-N-OUT will never be up here. They don't franchise and are independently owned by one family. I'll take a Double-Double, fries and strawberry shake.

I miss the old Ponderosa.
Ditto - missing Ponderosa. They had an awesome bread pudding as well as decent steaks at a reasonable price. Great salad bar.

For real??? I would LOVE to have a Sonic here, but how will it work with our cruddy MN winters?? Isn't it kind of like A&W?? more of a drive in type of eatery??

They should bring a Big Boy's burger chain here. I was in Florida years ago and their salad bar was to die for! The burgers were ok too.

We have Jim Boys here in CA. This is by far the best Mex. fast food. Taco Del Mar is not as common but also very good.
