As a former Minnesotan and Twin Cities resident that has lived in Phoenix for the last 8 years I have to ask. Do you really want a del Taco in Minnesota? If you want good Mexican food go to a good Mexican restaurant. I guess if Taco Bell, Taco Johns or even McDonalds is your idea of good eats then you'll probably happy. In my opinion - YUCK!!

David, do you honestly think ANYONE who truly wants to eat true mexican food would go to a fast food restaurant anyway?

we've got plenty of good mexican places in the Twin Cities (i grew up in New Mexico, trust me i know good mexican)

Looks like Taco Bell's dominance in the Twin Cities is most likely over after this move.

Is the place actually any good? It is just another remake of Taco Bell?

I'll most likely continue to drive up to Columbia Heights and La Casita if I want good mexican. Either that or there's a place on Concord just outside downtown St Paul that's pretty good too... Boca Chica? I think that's the name of it. Either way, Del Taco sounds like another Zantigo, Taco Bell or Taco John's which we really don't need.

As a transplant from CA I can say I am ecstatic to hear that Del Taco is coming to MN!!! It's the best of the best for mexican fast food and will blow Taco Bell away!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait - and I agree if only they could get In N Out Burger too it would be the perfect world

Del Taco is another Taco Bell, Zantigo, and Taco John's. One thing is it is much better.

I live in California and I don't know what I'd do without Del Taco. Yes, it is a fast food place and no, it isn't "real" Mexican food, but it is very good. Very good and very inexpensive. Just try it once. You have nothing to lose. Instead of asking if you really want a Del Taco, ask why you wouldn't want one. Let them try it out. IF it doesn't work for Minnesota then you've lost nothing yourself. All I can say is that California has a "real" Mexican restaurant on every corner and "real" Mexican fast food chains, but somehow Del Taco still gets business. My guess is that it'll do even better in a city that doesn't have as many options.

I like the breakfast sausage burritos at McDs. I eat them with 2 hot sauces.

And I have burritos in the refrigerator that I can heat up and eat, for cheap.

So I don't want no more steeeeekeeeng Mexicano food.

Sonic is coming to the Twin Cities. They announced that about a month ago? Not exactly sure. One is supposed to be in the Sun Ray area of St. Paul. I don't know if they're coming to Needham Heights, MA though.
