Mutiny Fiji soldier rescued by Tonga

May 14, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Manawatu Evening Standard

A top Fiji soldier facing mutiny charges has been "rescued" by the Tongan navy and taken to Nuku'alofa. Colonel Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, until recently commander of the Third Fiji Infantry Regiment, has now vowed to rid Fiji of the "hateful dictatorship" of Voreqe Bainimarama.

Emilly, doing the right thing is perhaps the aim and purposes of every government in this pacific region. And that is the fairest way of any country, not only lawfully but also morally right to allow the people to elect few of their local leaders to form a government to administer the country's affair. Tonga and Fiji is no exception, though Tonga has not yet got there, but at least the people selected their representative to Parliament. While Fiji is not.

Bainimarama, came in to power by force, and what we see now is the result of his action in the first place. Until his court case with the former legal PM Qarase about the legality of his coup, then the court found his action to be unlawful. Then Bainimarama abolished the constitution and the Judicially. THEN HE AND MEMBERS OF THE ARMY, TOGETHER WITH FEW FRIENDS, ILLEGALLY BEGIN TO MANUFACTURE THE MILITARY ADMINISTRATION.

Emilly, I can guarantee to you that there'll be more action to come from the people of Fiji, as they were force illegally by non-Fijian which used the thick-head Bainimarama to carry out their dirty, corrupted ambition.

Mara, after been in the army, and observe how Bainamarama continue to destroy the structure of what Cakobau and the people of Fiji were trying to build in that time, must be stopped.

Mara's escape to Tonga, whether it is wrong or right, but he have a close blood relationship to the royal family and the nobles of Tonga.

The rightful and noble moves for Bainimarama to do now, is to apologize publicly on television to the people of Fiji, the Pacific Forum etc. Established an interim government to take care until the election. And lastly, be prepare to go to jail and his gang, including the foreigner, then after. that Mr Mara can return happily ever after to Fiji.

Go to Google and look up to how Cakobau lead the war to established a better fiji and within this process, Mara comes in to the action. Note how George Tupou, the King of Tonga at the time came from the request from Cakopau to come and help. And it was a great help, which was described by the article namely "RATU SERU CAKOBAU FALL & RISE"

Overseas Tongan, why don't you just sit tight and try to look beautiful where you are and leave this matter to a real Tongan to handle? We may be small in size and everything else but we have a very, very BIG HEART...got that? And we can fight till the last man falls.(Tonga mo'unga ki he LOTO) still alive and kicking...

'Aleni, Please know that the Fiji Navy was ably rebuit & restored by Commodore Bainimarama, Navy Captain Vili Naupoto and others, it is a professional fighting Navy indeed with Freemantle-class Australian patrol vessels (5?) Tonga Navy (3), and US & Israeli Naval vessels & assets. The Merchant Navy is also very well-stocked with assets. The Air Wing also has operational flying assets.

In any case, the professionalism of both officer cadres is very high,if not the best. It is the politicians who will have the final say if not the respective Heads of State as Commanders in Chief. Tonga & Fiji will still remain brother nations with common stratedic interests in the Forum with good & cordial relations.

Let him bring his little army. Bananarama doesnt realise how many of his soldiers are thinking the same thing as Tevita Mara. By the time they reach Tonga half his army will do an about face on his muppet azz.

Never mind that Tonga is part of the Coalition Forces. Im pretty sure the US would be interested in getting a foothold in the pacific by wiping out the "big bad dictator".

He better be careful, the US are just waiting for an excuse to add to their empires resources like they have in the middle east...

Tongan PM speaks

Tonga’s Prime Minister Lord Tu’ivakano stated that there will be no obstacle placed before the Fijian government representatives in court nor will Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara be denied counsel and the right to reply.

I am hoping that Tonga PM won't give in to the illegal dictatorship Bainimarama's demand for his comrade Mara to extradition back to Fiji.

Fiji military government is not recognized by the Pacific Forum, Commonwealth as well as UN. They kept the door open, and communication still continue, but what have been available to other countries in this Region are not for Fiji.

So, this is an opportunity for Tonga to show Bainimarama, that what he done in forcing his way in to politic by the barrel of a gun, is not recognized.

We do know that the Tonga Marines ('Taliai'), the Tonga Navy ('Masefield/Touliki') and the 'Tonga Royal Guards'('Senee', the most senior Pacific Island Military Unit) can hold their own in whichever theatre of war (Iraq, Middle East, the Solomons, PNG, Bouganville, etc...). These are modest but very effective & professional fighting skills in combat. No wonder that when US President Bill Clinton was asked as to which is his favourite country in the whole world ? He replied that it was Tonga !(for joining the 'Coalition of the Willing'.

Cool down fa'a fafine... Its now a family matter as ULuilakepa is of Tongan ancestors and his call for the King of TOnga for protection from a tyrant dictator is taken into account...
Bainmarama is also of Tongan decendents too ... His great, great , great grand father was kicked out of Tonga for molesting the Tamahaa and resided in Fiji .. He built a village and a fortress for his company and its still stand today.. Tavui is a tourist attraction these days but it was built by Mailelatamai son of the first Tu'i Pelehake ...

Interesting? Reference Jane's Defence/CIA Book.

Fiji Army: 5000+, Fiji Navy: 3 Ptl Boats and various others boats.(the small Israeli patrol boats have to refuel twice before it can reach Tonga)Air Wing: Helicopters are Non Operational

Tonga Army: 1000-, Tongan Navy: 3 Patrol Boats, Air Wing: 2 Fix Wing.

The 600 NM between Fiji and Tonga is the moat or the highway. They have to traverse this distant before they even reached their targets. It seem the Tongan with their planes armed and patrol boats armed can easily destroy a Fijian attack of ships with troops who will travel 3-5 days to get within their targets and lightly protected by patrol boats and with no air protections...lol..

The Fijian leader have to be very careful with the Lau Group who are closely related to Tongans, David Mara is a high chief and the Lau people might rebel against the Military leader and his Indian Lawer. David Mara is also the brother in-law of the President, Ganilau who is the high chief of Bau I think. With these provinces support withdrawn, the soldiers from these provinces might not support Bainimarama...lol..

Either way, both countries know that to use military will be high risk low rewards. They jus argue it out legally and diplomatically... Bainimarama shud know that his government might be falling apart..lol.. Tonga is the least of his worry..lol..
