Yoga has small benefit for chronic back pain: study

In a new UK study of adults with chronic lower back pain, a 12-week yoga class led to a small improvement in how well participants could perform daily activities, but it did not ease their pain.
"The researchers write, however, that because their study found stretching and yoga led to similar improvements, the primary benefits of yoga were attributable to the stretching and strengthening of participants' muscles, rather than any mental or spiritual effects."
What people commonly call "yoga" is actually a variation of Hatha Yoga. The practice of posture or asana really has little to no spiritual effect, it is simply meant to prime the body and mind for meditation.
I could attest that Yoga usually focus on healthy muscles especially flexibility, it didnt say about healing back pains but all i know that it can relieve pain by traditional back massage. http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/

i agree.i've been suffer from neck and back pain for a long time, and it was because i thought yoga could help to ease or kill those pain that i began yoga practice.yoga indeed makes my body more flexible and improves my health. yet my back still pains. back pains are usually linked to cervical spondylosis, which,i believe,is incurable,but a back massage or acupunture treatment can release you from the pain for at least 2 or 3 days.
