Can exercise improve back pain

In a nut shell, Yes! Exercise is very important in over all health but most importantly the improvement of back pain.

Well, if you do squats that probably won't help. The type of excercise matters a lot in curing back injury and pain.
You need to do various sciatica stretches. Quote from "Ten Best Tips to Cure Sciatica and Back Pain"

PIRIFORMIS MUSCLE STRETCH
This stretch is very much like how American male sits cross-legged, only itís done on the floor.

The piriformis muscles go through the pelvis socket along with the sciatica nerve. It is a constricted area, much like carpal tunnels in the wrist, and this stretch makes room for your nerves by making the muscles supple.

This stretch is nearly always necessary to relieve the pain along the sciatic nerve, and should be done on the floor, but you can also do it sitting if necessary.

1. Lie on the back with the legs bent and feet flat on the floor. Pull up a leg up toward the chest, and cross it over the other knee, just like a man sitting cross-legged. Stretch by locking your fingers behind the supporting leg, and also by moving the crossed leg away from the body. Feel the stretch. Do not force ankle or knee beyond stretch. Hold stretch for 30 seconds, then slowly return to starting position. Try to complete a set of three stretches, and then alternate legs.

Try McKenzie exercises / stretches to reduce the disc gel bulging which impinges on the nerves thus causing pain.

Try to avoid such painkillers. Better go with some yoga exercises. It can strengthen the lower back and the abdominals.

It depends to what extent is your back in pain. If it is due to the day to day activities, then some casual activities can make a big difference to you positively.

Yes of course exercises are very effective. But I think better to use some pain relief tab at the same time, maybe Naproxen, Naprosyn. I find some information about it at naproxens.com Hope you'll read something useful there about action of this there.

Yeah I also agree exercise improve back pain.I say Activity is often the best medicine for back pain.ďSimple exercises like walking can be very helpful.It gets people out of a sitting posture and puts the body in a neutral, upright position.

Let me get this straight--let's see here: Wisdom said all of chiropractic was quackery and can treat nothing--yet (here's the important part) she herself practiced for 20 years and billed (bilked) insurance companies so she could get paid for something she knew was doing nothing. Let me get this straight here: she's now dispensing 'expert advice." Advice on what? How to bilk insurance companies like she did?

Oh, and now (get this) when I exposed her as an insurance cheat she now says this about chiropractic, "All well researched and well founded."
Oh, I see. When other chiropractors practice chiropractic it's quackery. But when wisdom bilked insuranced companies during the 'mercedes 80's' chiropractic was "all well researched and well founded." Can you imagine a bigger hypocrite? What a lying snake.
