You really need to exercise at a higher intensity level to get the most effective fat burning. Strength training will help you to continue burning fat even after the workout. Remember, if you don't work you don't get the results.

I really concur with betterhealthierb ody but in order to loss weight there no need to work at high intensity. A common person who have many works, can simply do 45mins workout, walking which will be beneficial for him/her.

Anything that's tough on the puff and high intensity is guaranteed to give you a high calorie-burn.

I had a chance to read Haitham's book http://www.maximumfitness.com.au/ebook.html , and in this book he says that spinning, circuit classes and interval training on the CV machines all burn many calories, around 500 for a 45-minute session.

Aerobic sessions tend to burn a higher number of calories during the session itself than lifting weights but weight or resistance training will give you a higher excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (Epoc), also known as afterburn - the post session hike in metabolic rate.

Outside the gym, football, rollerblading, skipping and tennis all rank pretty high on the calorie-burn scale.

Why pound your joints on the treadmill when you can burn just as many calories getting in the elliptical groove while you watch Real Housewives?
