I'll leave the stuffy, pop music blaring, geezer-laden gym to those of you that enjoy that kind of thing and stick to my outdoor activities for caloric burn. A 30 minute jog is a thousand times more enjoyable than even just 10 minutes on the treadmill.

No doubt that the gym atmosphere isn't for everyone... But, depending on where u live, the gym is probably the only reasonable way to get any cardio in. I do agree if you can jog outdoors, it's 10-times more effective than a treadmill, but, you have to incorporate a strength program into that and that's where the gym really becomes useful.

No reason to pay money for a gym membership, simply walk an hour per day and eat less starches. Keep things simple.
