I just wanted to share my experience so far with other Morning Call readers. I recently took my second class with Lisa, and I'm already seeing results! I lost a couple of pounds, and I feel great. The best part is that it's a lot of fun, doing the dance moves, that it doesn't feel like I'm working out at all! I know I'm working hard though because I'm sweating and feel that (good) soreness afterwards.

Anyway, just wanted to share. Oh and also you don't need to know how to dance at all to do this (I am completely clueless). I hope you come, it is so much fun for me that I am really motivated to keep going. I'm even watching what I eat more now that I have gotten this jump start. This is not some boring exercise class!

Here's Lisa's website:

Classes are held @ Dolly Haltzman's Dance Academy Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm and Saturdays 11am to noon.

Bethlehem YMCA Wednesday 7-8 pm and Saturday 9am-10am

Allentown YMCA Monday 7-8pm starting February 23 and they will be adding day classes too!!

Allentown JCC Sunday 11am to noon

Zumba is AWESOME!! It's an incredible workout & a lot of fun. It's also addicting. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different. Shawn is an incredible instructor & Dance Fusion is a wonderful place to go. The people are very friendly & provide a positive environment. I have children who take dance classes & they absolutely love it, Kristi is an incredible teacher as well. Gotta check it out!!!! ZUMBA!!

After taking Zumba at other studios, I find that Lisa Yeager gives the most enjoyable class. She's very real not like a typical exercise instructor who is a skinnie minnie.

She's lost a lot of weight since starting Zumba and is just an inspiration to me as well as others who struggle with their weight.

it depends on what your goals are. When I want to drop weight rapidly, I'd go for a cardio workout like aerobics. I can drop all the weight I want in 2-3 months if I workout 5 days a week 1-2 sessions per day. I need the structure of a class I attend. I've worked all the weight machines and don't see those kinds of results. Like I've read, often you have a great body underneath but maybe have collected some fat around your middle or whatever. Right now, I'm working on toning the gluteus area. A nice butt goes a long way. You don't want anyone to gag when you walk away. lol

Think I will go buy some more Calphalon today. Cooking your own food is the best way and maybe eat out once a week..split a meal and split a dessert with the one you love.

One of my friends is dragging me to Zumba. Hope it's as fun as they say. I'd rather just run for 20 min. and be done or climb bleachers/stairs. Then some toning and stretching at some other time. Do your workouts in short increments and it won't feel like torture. I read people who do shorter workouts don't get as bored.
